Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

So I have just got the bearing out. Interestingly, the bearing was tight to remove on the hub outer side of the circlip recess. There is a spacer which sat in between the bearings From inspection of the hub, there appears to be a slight difference in the diameter of the area to seat the...

@t so did you put the shim stock into the hub and then press the bearing into that? I’m wondering what stops the shim from just moving as you press it?

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

Thanks Tom - I'll give them a ring and check. I'll be having a go at getting the bearing out this afternoon, I have been looking at various sleeves etc, mostly they seem to be designed to fit on shafts and then be inserted into the ID of the bearing. I wonder if I could fit to the bearing and...

Yeah ha that was me - such a nice guy and what a great experience that was as well! Honestly completely surreal. I always assumed the videos were very staged but genuinely it's exactly as it seems!

Not taken the circlips off yet to look at the bearings. Did have a further look at the rubber tyres. Originally people reccomended keeping them, but I’m rather concerned about the condition (photos). There are sizeable chunks missing in areas, and a lot of torn rubber throughout. They seem to...

This is cool, did you just print out stencils from the internet and cut them out?

Only a bit of workshop furniture but delighted to have finished my planer cabinet for the Kity 636. Houses a small HVLP chip extractor to serve the P/T and has space for a small cupboard. Overbuilt to deal with the weight of the machines etc. small enough to fit snugly in my 6x8 workshop.

And finally… here are the photos of the finished machine, mounted on its finished cabinet which houses its dust extraction!

Here’s the photos of the fence with its bumpers. I made them from HDPE and used an offset hole so I can adjust their height. Stops me bashing up the table as I remove it. Can also see the overhang of the fence rod and why I need to cut it down so that the unit can fit flush against the wall of...

    Outdoor Furniture wood?

The festool domino would work great on all of those joints, but you could hand cut tenons or use dowels for the blue ones (all with glue of course). Dowels would be simple to do and cheap too. You could either do them as through-dowels and make some out of the same wood, so that they are visible...

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

I made some progress on this yesterday. Managed to get the top wheel (the wobbly one!) off the machine. I still think the bore in the wheel which takes the bearing is the issue, but I need to remove the circlips holding the bearings in before I will know for certain. They are quite large...

I wanted to move the NVR switch which was mounted on the extractor motor, so I fitted a junction box to the motor in its place and then a short length of cable up into the original switch box which is now on the top. The machine is actually mounted on the top in this photo, I’ll take some...

More of cabinet. Also the extractor and the printed 95 degree bend. I would have preferred to have a longer curve shape to it which would be better for airflow, but I was so space constrained (3mm clearance each side). I needed the extra 5 degrees to have room to fit the hose and hose-clip.

Photos of the unit design and construction. I ended up remaking the front panel to remove the recesses intended for the switches in order for everything to fit. I also added some cut-outs for lifting the unit at the the ends. I don’t have a photo of it finished but I’ll take one this week.

Photos of the fence attached to the rod that sploo machined for me. I don't have a picture of the HDPE bumpers so i'll take one next week. Initially it wasn’t holding secure with the bolt done up tight, @sploo suggested extending the slot of the machined part slightly using a hacksaw in order...

    Kity 636

I hadn't updated this for a while but there has been progress! The machine is all up and working fine now, i've just been doing some of the other bits to get it all finished. Otherwise i'm very happy with how it's all gone, the machine is good, sturdy and operates well. I do struggle a fair bit...
