    Tiny 8 x 6 workshop, Part 2. Sort of...

I work out of a 6x8 and manage. Have a bench going down one long side, then other long side have units with machines all on wheels. Wiring is all fixed and have outlets everywhere to make it easy for me not to fall over myself. Bench is clear, have a vice built into front, I could put a pillar...

    Thicknessing small pieces of wood

Proxxon do their reslly small thicknesser which can handle very small pieces, and thickness down to 1.0mm, obviously at the limitation that it cannot handle anything even moderate in size. PROXXON - DH 40

    Thicknessing small pieces of wood

Obviously works well for you but i'd be petrified of sending anything with metal through my P/T

    Thicknessing small pieces of wood

Would you not be at all worried pushing screws through your P/T? 😲

    compressor couplings question

Well it depends - what hose are you getting? If the hose has euro fittings on already (like this coiled one or this straight one) then you wouldn't need to change them, if not then you would need separate fittings for your hose (not the ones in your link, you need the hose tailpieces). For the...

    Thicknessing small pieces of wood

I would be very concerned when we are getting to thicknesses of 7mm, the potential for flex in such thin stock when it is only held by one roller would make me very worried. EDIT - Although mind you, with a spiral head probably my concerns are less justified as it would be a lot less violent...

    Thicknessing small pieces of wood

Thicknesser with small pieces becomes dangerous and likely will just shatter the pieces. Do you have access to a drum sander? If you have a good bandsaw setup and it doesn't need to be perfectly 7mm but 7-7.5mm then I expect you might be able to use that with a blade appropriate for veneer...

    compressor couplings question

I like the PCL XF couplers. They are well made and work with the euro-style fittings which come on most tools (although you can fit the PCL fittings if not). They are relatively cheap and available from screwfix which is helpful. The Hyundai compressor you have linked to has a euro fitting on...

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

I would say the work I currently do on my bandsaw is 80% straight cutting 20% curved cutting. As you say, the groove is not in the middle it is slightly offset. I have no intention of swapping it back to front, there just is not much wear on the tyre so it does not seem neccersary. I might...

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

What is the issue with flat tyre profile? Is there a reason not to replace the original tyres with the manufacturer replacement parts? The Centauro takes a tyre with a male rubber ridge in the middle of it which fits into a recessed groove machined into the wheel, so I wasn't keen on replacing...

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

So the repaired wheel is mounted and working - seems to run fine and has no wobble. There is much less vibration in the saw now, it's a world apart from where I started and there's much less movement in the blade. The blade I have has a small kink in and seems to be blunt so I haven't been able...

FTAGH FREE Small Planer/Thicknesser Blade Setting Jig / Accessories

I sold my titan planer/thicknesser a few weeks ago, then found these parts for it in a box in the shed. Theres the blade/knife setting jig, a spare handle for the fence and a couple of machine screws etc. I've never used any of it. The bloke who bought it from me doesn't want them and I have no...

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

I can check on the weekend when I will hopefully be able to mount the wheel back onto the saw. You want me to check if the upper wheel aligns so that it is true with the lower wheel is that right?

Centauro 400 SSP Bandsaw (does anyone have a manual!)

So today was the day for re-fitting the bearings. I had put the new ones in the freezer overnight to hopefully make fitting them a tiny bit easier, although I doubt it made much if any difference. I had cleaned and degreased the hub ready for fitting before I started. Started off by fitting...

    Kity 636

@MikeK I just tried but it won't let me upload the .stl files as attachments. The files are available on the internet though - I got them from here where they are available to download for free: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3658399/files https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3069060/files

    Kity 636

Yeah I will have to see how I get on with it after a few months of using. So far I realise that the unit is really quite heavy. I can manage to lift it in and out of the shed, but I have put a couple of extra supports under the shed floor so there is less flexing! Of course it isn't an ideal...
