    Removing some of truss Webbing

I read the title of this thread as adjusting Liz Truss's over-shoulder-boulder-holder. 😳 I DO need that therapy....😧

Rhodesian Teak for making box ?

Depends on the teak. Some of it can be very coarse grained and look a bit 'splintery' when you are done tooling it. The 'Oul' Fellas' used grain fillers quite a lot with some of the pieces I used. From memory, Brummer stopper and coarse sacking to rub it in. Edit: yes, it blunts tools. Even...

    Chamfer router bit

I find a selection of different sized bearings of more use when chamfering, rather than the actual chamfer dimensions or shaft size. They allow you to use different parts of the carbide and even out wear.

    Need to escape/reset

Stig, Mucker, this is a common "delay" tactics used - particularly by established beaurocrats - to deflect and delay having to take action, or spend money. The next step is to "convene a working group" or similar tosh to have a talking shop instead of taking a (possibly) contentious decision...

    A B&D Grinder repaired.

Bl**dy well done Mucker! I have prised and fiddled about with those damnation switches in the past. Wish I had bought you a pint 20 years ago.

Great save. Surface grinders can be marvellous gadgets in the right hands.

    Arnold does Parkside !!!

You obviously haven't listened to Barry Norman's review of A.S.. Hilarious, factually accurate and free of Tinsel Town spin. Incidentally, get him away from a script, and Arnie actually comes across as a reasonable human being. A wee bit lumbering Teuton (or, more accurately, Austrian) but...

MFT-style vs. Trad-style workbench design (is there a middle ground??)

They all do. It's so you can pinch up an item by using just the top centimetre or so if you chose.

The Great PortoBrit Wadkin Restoration Project

Jeez. So....you are becoming a Wadkin monk for the next two years (at least?) during which, you will not go out, do any other job, and spend a considerable part of your non-mechanical.time chasing John Bradfast ( and, possibly, deema) for an ever - diminishing pile of Waddy spares? Blessings be...

    Greetings from the north east

Where are you please chop chop? There are a few native Geordies on here and "blow-ins" like me, in Alnwick.

    Parkside flat bits

Not seen them before Phil, but they look the bees' knees.

    Parkside flat bits

We bore impregnated, ancient oak and greenheart sleepers at our heritage railway. . Nothing, but nothing, lasts long under such punishment. Remarkably, the older 'brace' bits do an effective, if slow (and energetic!) job. Especially if their spurs have had a tiny touch up with a file and are...

    Realigning blanks

Four-edge centre, file one 'edge' to have a 'Vee' or notch in it. The mark it leaves is quite distinct from the other three. Just line up the 'vee' with the corresponding shallower dimple on the turned object's bottom. Simples.

    Need to escape/reset

Absolutely. I hope this is the first step of many.

A little truth for a change.

Wow..fair enough. I understand your viewpoint better now, from posts #81 and #89 and I retract my negativity from earlier. I most fully agree that it is a 'syndrome' (wrong context!), not just Carbon Dioxide; the Earth's changing albedo comes readily to mind, methane plumes in Eastern Asia...

A little truth for a change.

Deema, that is just wilful nonsense. Statistics, proper statistics, not the dossy, careless, averages and percentages garbage pumped out by snake oil salesmen (sorry, politicians) are a robust and proven way of estalishing relationships. Try ANOVA and regression for example.
