    Extension Roof Fascia

I'm slightly confused, do you mean one strip of cladding just below roof level or the whole wall to dpc level? And, why are you leaving that orphan timber in place? Would it not be better to replace it with PVC wholly? Nice shorts by the way. Sam

    Electric Tariff

Bulb. Green, cheap, easy to deal with for lectric and gas. BG are descendants of Edwin Teach with the morals of a satyr regarding a fresh virgin. Sam

    Well, that didn't work

Roger, I'm no chemist, but that looks more like a reaction between gel and chemicals released in raw sawdust, rather than gel gone off?? Also, in same vein, does it look terrible, just gel on its own?? Ignoramus Sam. Edit: just done due Google..."clear gel.." Baffled. S.

    workbench and some

Have shufti at his overhead router. Somewhat akin to pc controlled ones, but manual. Hmmm. Could be useful. Miroc has one like it too. Some of the other stuff on his site mirrors american, heavy section plywood use, solving a problem that wasn't there before he constructed the solution... Sam

    Mythbusting!

It largely depends too on the underbracing (webbing) below a cast iron or aluminium table. And on whether you have bolt-on wings or side tables, versus one-piece. My Elecktra Beckum planer in sturdy aluminium is easy to put out of whack, but my Wadkin AGS is virtually bombproof, provided you...

    Old lathe parts

Linda, photo 4 has two exhaust clamps, some rope or cord pulleys, hole saws and assorted non-lathe stuff. The hole saw kit are the only bits woodworkers would use ordinarily. HTH, Sam EDIT! EDIT! There is also a drill sharpener that I am 95% sure is a "Reliance"...mucho cool, mucho sought...

    When I am in charge!

"Stations"???? Work stations. Sanding stations. Drilling stations. Feckin Yanks and their neologisms that are not actually, just mangled prose, used gratuitously to falsely enhance the apparent worthiness of what the 'author' has concocted... Bovine scatology, pure and simple. Sam

Phenolic toilet door to router table top.

Excellent idea and execution. I've had one in storage for yonks now with exactly this in mind. Going to be watching with interest. PS...best graffiti was along the bottom edge of the door: "beware of limbo dancers", but I also liked - just above the loo roll dispenser- : "Sociology degrees...

    Axminster TS250 Blade tilt limitation

Mike, my Wadkin saw is presently in storage and I'm using a track saw in an 'emergency only' fashion. For complicated medical reasons, that is unlikely to change soon. I have limited photos of the dust hood, unfinished, as I did not record the completed item. I am away from home until...

    Axminster TS250 Blade tilt limitation

Mike, "your mileage may vary"?? Remember? I find a properly adjusted fence and good tight zero clearance plate prevents dust ejection. Your setup may generate overblade dust and you need an extra suck there. Mine doesn't. The H&S reference you made baffles me; there is NO proscribed need for...

    Axminster TS250 Blade tilt limitation

No. The mod I was referring to was an under table one. Blade guard add ons like the last photo are not needed. Adjusting your saw properly negates the need for these . See the youtube video referred to for proof. Sam

    Axminster TS250 Blade tilt limitation

One thing you can do if you are considering a 'big mouth'is to block up the vertically downward facing port - shown in Mike's photo - and then open a new port in the vertical 'slab' face. This enables you to plug in/on a hose directly at the back and stops guddling about on your knees under the...
