    Blade sharpening, avoid getting nicked

Know anybody local to you with a milling machine? I'd flycut those pits clean out. Sorted. Big enough lathe (min 6" chuck) would do the same job, albeit with more set up. Sam

    Make your own extraction trunking?

Kitchen extractor fan ducting is amazingly cheap and available in an astonishingly versatile range of fittings. Try round to rectangular, swept right angle...yada, yada...I believe wood/MDF 'pipes' would have too much friction or boundary effect to be viable for an extractor under 3hp. Kitchen...

    Japan!!???!?!?

I've not seen the match, nor heard the score, but the Irish side seem to have lost their way for sure, over the last 8-9 months. Strange. Sam

    Name that tree

Wellies? Ah, the pleasures of living 2m above mean sea level...even more reason for not digging founds for that greenhouse! Your water table must be no more than three spits down! DAMHIKT...let's just say the tractor and trailer were heavily loaded... Sam

METABO DH330 BENCH TOP PLANER / THICKNESSER

I had a DW733 for ages. Great, robust bit of kit. Blade changing took 10 mins, rotating blade stock a good idea, via local sharpeners, about twice a year for busy amateur use. Replacements from Applebys not too expensive. Extraction was easy, angled spout, no dust or chippings escaped it, only...

    Name that tree

Noel, if you are getting those local poplar leaves from where I think you are getting them (Bellarena House, wall bordering the road?) I know a man who saw them planted nearly 80 years ago. Just to put provenance on them. Sam

    Name that tree

Noel, your leaves are not typical of beeches in Norn Iron; you may remember I spent my working life up an avenue of 40 beech trees and my profession was... Given that it comes from a castle grounds(?), my money is on a "specimen tree" imported from location x by the gentry of the castle. If so...

Cool! Sam is not in the least put out at being wrong! Sam, ex moggy owner, but very glad to leave it in the past. EDIT: Also 260C owner and all too glad to have THAT.

    Elektra Beckum 260HC-M

Yup. Only the rear frame Bob, rest was monocoque pressed steel. Brake master cylinder was a complete twunt to get to and replace seals on. AND McPherson struts had a nasty habit of folding inwards...at speed...or what passed for speed in the moggy, unless you dropped the 1275cc spitfire engine...

    Orright, I am having a guern (N.
