Mock, the chuck key had no markings. But... The central boss of the key is 8mm in diameter. I've included photaes of the chuck so that you might search for its data sheet and maybe there get a chuck key reference? Sorry, got a family medical issue tonight or I'd do it myself. Please...

Multico 12 speed pillar drill adjusting rack

Thanks Trev. Mock, I had no luck locating the info; drat, sorry. But, I do have a chuck key, will look today for insignia on it. Couldn't yesterday, as away from home. I still intend to chase down a rack; it was going to be £28 - £30, plus VAT and postage I think. Sam

Mock, I was in correspondence with Clarke's before I moved, a year ago, and I suspect the email is deleted or buried by now. That said, I still need the rack, so please give me 48 hours to dig? Sam

Workbench top thickness. Is 35mm too thin

Loose layers might...though I don't know how...Jacob on a stirring crusade again??? Glued or screwed ones certainly do not. Sam, whose laminated one, glue only, is not only stable, but hernia-inducing; no way a bit of work is moving it.

Yes and no. Politics on this site, mormally anethma. THAT B word stood to be the biggest upheaval of our daily lives in forty years. What a shame posters could not stick to objective reviews of political pabulum and descended - in many cases - to gutter insults. I'm glad to see it gone.

    Japanese saws

Excellent!! I have two, a dozuki and a coarser, two sided ripper. Once you remember to oull, not push, they are SO easy tonuse, great finish, would unhesitatingly buy again. Replaceable blades are common. Samuri Sam

    Axminster 5 1/2 plane issues?

It can be fettled/dialed out, but this degree of slop is more akin to 60 years old than 60 mins put if the box! Sam

Conspiracy nuts. (split from Re: How does this work?)

Worst I ever witnessed was a thunderflash (minor explosive ) going off under a (static) landrover's fuel tank..."brown trouser moment" in no way comes remotely near to expressing the emtions engendered... Sam
