    Accuracy.

More info please. WHAT are you working on and tenths of WHICH unit of measurement? Oh, and wood moves. Allowing for "tenths" is part of the game... Sam, who has different standards for wood vs metal...

    Framing Square.

Any. Plus centre punch and 'gurt big 'ammer' either side of corner to expand metal and push/pull corner back square. Did mine when I bought it and again when it khamakhasied off my ladder at gutter level....Square as a square thing. Not to Starrett specs maybe, but spot on for wall layout...

Library strip clips: do you know of strong ones?

Gresswells Library suppliers. Used them for nearly 40 years. Never had a failure. Sam

    Stumped on surface planer

I've got the Electra Beckum 260C, ancestor of your Metabo I suspect. Great little workhorse. Did several thousand feet of reclaimed floorboards one afternoon for me. Went through three sets of blades; sharpening bill, sure, but took varnish, knots, the odd nail in its stride. Recommended...

    Ventilation

Sorry. Think I confused dessicators with dehumidifiers. And yes, it is adsorb. Sam.

    Ventilation

Rorschach, I find both of those statements sweeping, and possibly, incorrect. When I wrote "modest" that is exactly what I meant; a very small, insignificant in the context, not enough to change the overall thermal energy within the house. I was, of course, being a naughty pedant, to wig Mike...

Yes, for costing more Mike, no in that they do emit a modest amount of heat. Sam

Advice needed regarding some old rusty junk

Emphatically not junk!! Were I to be still in Norn Iron, I would be hammering on your door! Yes, there is a bit of work to get them working again, but the rust is superficial and I see no signs of gross abuse in the few pikkies you posted. Sam

    Saw handles

Yup. Agreed Mike; I had a second 'butchers'; could do. S.

    Saw handles

Top 3 are generic long bladed rip or cross-cut handles Linda. Bottom 2 are absolutely gorgeous dovetail or fine tenon handles. Do you have the nuts to go with them? Usually in brass, or lookalike, and with impressed logos or lettering on at least one side. N.B., these are not normal nuts as in...

Multico 12 speed pillar drill adjusting rack

Yup, seen a couple of iterations of this on Yankee sites. Good alternative to a scissor (but NOT bottle) jack. I had trailers, plural, for many years and I can say - with confidence - that the vertical travel of a trailer wheel jack like this is more that you will get with the average scissor...

    Ventilation

I totally agree John (sorry to change your quote slightly). I have long asked here for exactly that: experience, not opinion. My bottom line is that my condensation problem, and the mould that it encouraged, has gone. Given the medical condition I referred to above, I am very relieved and...

    Why can't I paint ceilings!

Roller on a pole like said above. You get 'tracks' with uneven pressure at arm's length on the top of ladders. Also, roll it 'both ways': once N-S, then immediately E-W on the same patch. Finish with a LIGHT pass N-S. Finally, are you using the correct, good quality roller for your paint? Can...
