    Ornamental plasterwork

In the old days, with a metal profile for longevity, this was known as a "Horse" - especially for long lengths made in a former, that was often, but not always, at ninety degrees. And, forming a length with it (very energetic!) was: "Running the horse" - from which MAY come the phrase...

Is the Metabo HC260 any good? Currently dimensioning with bandsaw and handplanes.

I think it is possible you are cofusing two different blade types for the 260's. I have had both. The original EB blade fixing was four bolts, pressure fit, grub screw alingnment. The better, later, blade mounts (which are freely avaiable online) use a blade with slots cut in, and 'turnscrews' -...

    what best to plant ...

Phil, is "hedge" in Cornish a fence or a sloping surface? Because, I am used to a hedge being green and growing (bushily) upwards? In the case of the ground shown in your photos, I would invest in a couple of dozen vigorous 'groundcover' plants, low, thick, and flowering.

    Another Wadkin Woe

As the owner of a similarly afflicted AGS10, "Well Done Mucker!" I'm presently using an Axminster Biesemeyer clone, but it lacks the gravitas of my busted original fence.

    This morn's interesting postbox...

I instructed a lawyer to get probate for me on a deceased relative's esate. That was 25th March...she snail-mailed me about a week later, saying 'just sign this contract to retein me'...and yes, you guessed it, this morning's post contained yet ANOTHER legal billet doux, saying 'if you are...

Help with Axminster AW10BSB2 table saw - stuck blade - help!!!

Or, clamp the blade with a pair of Mole grips, then apply spanner to nut. I have a Wadkin where the tommy bar insertion points have rounded out. The Mole wheeze works every time. Obviously, do't over tighten the Moles and cause blade damage.

    someone needs a proofreader ...

Ark welder. Planner for smothing wood. Right-off for parts. Need I go on? Farcepuke is full of similar cringe-worthy phonetics. I blame Michael Gove et al for distancing us all from the Three R's: Readin', Writin' an' 'Rithmatic.

    Workbench

Utterly!! My slightly cheap Sjoberg's derivitive, bolted to the garage wall, plus the 4" pitch pine top I made for it = Rock of Gibralter steady! Make sure your bolting is two (vertically spaced apart) connections per leg. This emulates fastening a sheet of ply on the back of the frame to...

    Stupid accident

I worked as a science teacher for nearly 40 years. Accidents are not "stupid" as referred to above. They are "caused"!!!! The person causing them does not have to be 'stupid'; they merely have to be tired, distracted, or not having thought through their actions thoroughly enough. Careful...
