    Record pt 260

Oh lovely. Quite reasonable too. I’ve emailed them for the correct fitment for my machine. Out of interest can anyone find the original thread, as it might provide some insight on fitting them, how good they are etc ? Thanks again

    Record pt 260

Hello all, Anyone know of anyone who would sell a blade or knife converter for the above ? I’m not going to fork out on a Tersa or spiral head, but surely there is some kind of adapter that allows the use of knives that don’t require significant setup upon changing. Tia

    Fixing 10mm studding into wood

Yeah use resin. Particularly don’t use the tee nut above as that won’t work at all, it is intended to be fixed the other side (in this application fixed to the bottom of the foot, with the threaded rod then having to extend through the whole leg.) it would just pull out as you tightened...

Wanted Wanted - Turned door pulls

Or come to think of it, If they are a simple cone like they sound like you can fairly easily make them yourself ? With a pillar drill and a little angled sanding block. Orrrrr a handheld drill and a belt sander/linisher/disc sander and freehand it.

Yeah nice I’ve used this before in fact.

    Outdoor caulk/putty/silicone

Hello all, I’m replacing an outdoor ballustrade that’s rotten through. On paintstripping the original sound condition posts, there seems to be a caulk like material pushed in around any junctions. Any suggestion on what to replace it with ? Seems prudent as I’ve removed most of it now. It’s...

    Reinforcing loose wall plugs.

Rawl plugs are pretty bad into plasterboard, they don’t really get a snug fit for the long term as the plasterboard kind of perishes/erodes around the hole, particularly on something with a moving load. I would get some of these...

Sash bar dimensions for historical windows

Looks to be a tenoner. Basicalllllly very similar to a spindle moulder with a decent coping sled/sliding carriage type arrangement, permanently set up for tenons. From memory most have two heads so you can cut top and bottom at the same time.. without having to fiddle with packers to space the...

    Sold Record Power PT260 10" x 6" Planer Thicknesser

I’m interested. How much of an issue is the missing out feed locking screw ? Is that pictured in any of the photos ? Ta

Attaching a top to a unit?!?!?!

This method is also good because you can then use some kind of bracket or whatever at the top back to fix it to the wall. Incidentally the image you chose shows “breadboard ends” which are a good option, although I probably wouldn’t bother on a top so small unless I required that look, but well...

Attaching a top to a unit?!?!?!

You could also fix the table top at the back edges (fixed with glue and a single domino) which would then allow it to expand or contract forwards only. If you do allow movement in all directions it might end with an unsightly gap at the back edge, whereas the overhang at the front changing is...

Sash bar dimensions for historical windows

There aren’t 100 unique components in many sash windows.. you surely would mark your first unique off the rod, then any similar off the first .. the first unique component becomes the stick

Sash bar dimensions for historical windows

But you must concede Jacob, that the first thing marked, whether a component or stick, has the same amount of accuracy ? To produce the drawing you are using fairly primitive measuring methods (steel rule for setting out ?) If you don’t want to produce a rod board, you can use the same...

    Attaching tulip frames to cabinets

If you have access to a lamello zeta then the tenso fitting are perfect for this, and attaching kick plates and small scribe panels. And in my experience, not a great deal else. Depending on how you intend to transport and install the cabinetry, and how long the runs are and access through...

Sash bar dimensions for historical windows

Gosh this has been an epic saga ! As far as I was taught - The rod drawing on a board Jacob refers to is called a rod board. From that you can mark your rods, if taking them somewhere else to make, or you can mark your first of a batch of similar components. In which case the first component...

Workshop share West Sussex (near Chichester)

Whoops. Posted before finished. Yes it would need upscaling in size if a coworking space, I suppose a machine shop plus several hundred sq ft per bench space, and possibly a larger shared assembly space. It’s not currently something I can fund or provide all the work for myself, just...

Workshop share West Sussex (near Chichester)

Fair point Johnny. Obviously if it was to be a co working space it would need to be much bigger, a sizeable machine shop area and as many be hello space dandy, I would also recommend checking out if there are any evening classes coming up at Chichester college. I have assisted in teaching...

Workshop share West Sussex (near Chichester)

Ah. £700 is very expensive for bench space, but it may have offered more space than most.. Most of them seem to be around £400-£500 I would probably be into it, but there don’t seem to be any running around here (so would be interested in starting one.) they tend to be in trendier places like...

Workshop share West Sussex (near Chichester)

Many thanks for the positive response. To be a bit more clear the cheap unit listed above is not available for rent, my full time employer is occupying it and I work in it. Yes seems to be fairly obvious to me, if one of you is lean and the other has too much work perfect etc. Any links for...

Workshop share West Sussex (near Chichester)

Hello chaps, I’m a full time employed furniture and cabinetmaker, but (mainly as a result of needing the money !) seem to have an increasing amount of private work coming in. I am constantly on the search for small workshop spaces (in the region of 500 sq ft or larger) within let’s say 10...
