    CNC advice please

Yes you need to cut square to round on the 4th axis keeps it all true, to do something like the round bases you would start off making the 2 1/2D model you want to build with in my case i had made the shell for a set of drawers, I work in Vectric Aspire I created the layout for the wrap attached...

    Question for the electricians

I would say 1st image is correct as gripping the sheath helps stop the wires being ripped out and looks tidy.

    CNC advice please

I don't think you need to think about pretension, I also think for the size of machine you said, I would go for 16mm ball screws and 20mm rails and then no matter what you want to cut it will be man enough to tackle it. 12 mm ballscrews do not have much depth to hold the balls. Here is an image...

    CNC advice please

I have come across some guys not too far away from me that have spent big money on toys like this only to find out they wasted their hard earned wages, bit of dust builds up under the little wheels and bang jumps off extrusions router still turning takes a chunk out of hold downs frightens the...

    CNC advice please

This is my main point take a look at the 1010 build there might be on the best side of £200 worth of ally extrusions, £2 worth of chipboard in the bed, £120 router, it all runs on little wheels on top of the extrusions, maybe £500 would be a realistic price, This is what I mean by giving the...

    CNC advice please

I think this one MPCNC would give you the wrong ideas/working of a cnc in a making place where you have people from different disciplines wanting to use. I think you would need to get something like the conventional i2R cnc shape but not at that price I think that is over priced for what is a...

How do I remove the chuck on my Sealy GDM-50A/5/B pillar drill drill?

No you hold the pulley from rotating and hit the chuck sideways then there is NO pressure on the quill register pin. If the chuck is throw away you can put a shaft in the key hole and hit it or you can tighten a hex bar in the chuck and use a ring spanner on it and hit that sideways, this is all...

How do I remove the chuck on my Sealy GDM-50A/5/B pillar drill drill?

Fergie, you should Not hit it down as that can bend the shaft it should be hit from the side as in rotation of the chuck.

How do I remove the chuck on my Sealy GDM-50A/5/B pillar drill drill?

Going by the RJ6 that is a taper so it should part, Is there a hole on top going down the shaft? If so hit a rod down the shaft to knock it out. if no hole and you are going to replace the chuck find a rod that will fit tight in the key hole then give it a sharp wack to one side, not down, hold...

Drill press for cutting 16mm holes

"If that is so, it would seem that a simple solution is to reverse the arm every year. At worst, you would double the life of it. You could always replace the bearings at the annual oil change and tyre-kick. If the root problem is the bearing failing, a new arm is not going to solve that...
