    It looks like you need some new brushes and before you put new ones in whilst you have the cover off try cleaning the gap in between the copper commutator use a toothpick size of wood so you don't damage any wiring.

    Repair chair leg

    Or you could do it the old fashioned way and repair it, but you need to put some time and effort into it. This is how I used to repair chair legs, very simple mark out and cut the shape, I never had one fail as far as I know.
