The seat shape and legs would be easy to cut out, design time maybe 30 min about the same for cutting, to cut the name in the sides you would need some form of angle bracket that could hold the work vertical whist cutting. Attached are two I made for my machine 1st a fixed angle bracket, for a...

    Is anyone using cnc

I started designing 2 1/2 D models from images with the idea of applying to furniture, but got sidetracked into making plaques with them on to put around the house, I found there are some odd lovely shapes in trees and this is where I am at the moment. My wife is totally blind and the shapes of...

what are the correct proportions for hammerhead tenons?

On the mortised part you leave a tang / tenon that fits into the saw cut to stop the sides moving out as in the image, not showing wedge but this would be below the head as Jacob pointed out. Phill

what are the correct proportions for hammerhead tenons?

I have worked on church restoration and radius windows and used these type of tenons, rule of thumb is tenons should be no less than 1/3 the width of stock used, attached is an image of how I cut them, if you make a sawcut each side of tenon approx 20mm higher than shoulder this forms a grove...
