    Lathe Chuck Spacers

    I use a piece of ground rod say 4mm dia and bend it into a V you then have 3 points for the 3 jaws, it is easy to pull out when tightened then it hangs on the lathe ready for next time.

    Hi Mike, It's done been able to make the disk 82mm dia also can be changed in the future if you find this one too small, bored out slightly under 16mm and it fits well on one of my motors.     Headstock/tailstock alignment

    If it fine between centres it could be a misalignment of the chuck, just had a mate with a problem like this and it was a build up of dust in the chuck register.

    I would not do the relief cuts on the straight only near the small radius, cut in one line and the waste side will help to hold the blade from wandering. Edit: added "small"
