    Sash window - a bit lost

    One little tip I was given was if you can lay the window down overnight with the putty side up run a little puddle of Paraffin into each glass section to soak it worked it's way under and up into the wood making it easy to chisel out the putty.

    Can I ask please If this is the seat board out of the clock I have to ask why would you want to repair it the cutout is for the pendulum to swing and the holes to fasten down the brass works non of which should be on view outside of the case.

    A couple of things to check, I don't know if this is what you are doing but, when you are setting the "steps per" in Mach3 press alt 6 then go down to "set steps per unit" pick an axis enter a figure to move then measure how far it moved enter that figure press accept you should find it moves...

    Don't worry, I understand you can see the problem it's hard for us to see it from words, can you fit a 6mm bolt to lock it up, would be easy with a spanner or Allan key

    Hi Garno, sorry I can't help as well the knobs I have are 5mm, It sounds like you need to have a good clean out were you lock it up If you have to use a bar to turn it must be very clogged up. Re: the knob coming off the 6mm shaft get some two part epoxy put some in the knob and screw on tight.
