    Drafting Machine (pre Sketchup!)

Twist drills - HSS, Titanium coated or Cobalt?

The better quality of HSS every time you can grind the edge to suit the work, grind a coated and you have lost the coating except in the flutes. For the tougher materiel you can grind a carbide masonry drill I have drilled through leaf springs from a lorry before no problem.

Please help find a right pillar drill/ drill press/ drill stand for me

Hi, what size drill bit do you need I have some long ones that I think should cut to full depth, I can check depending on dia. Hi Tom, I can see a couple of points that need to be sorted before you will get a straight through cut, 1: is the type of vise you are using is all wrong you need a flat vice made to use on a drill like this one. If you look at your image it looks like the handle end is tipping down try taking...

"Handing" of doors, very basic question.

Simple rule: You always look from the braced side of the door to decide if left or right, if brace starts out bottom right that is where you fit the hinge (so that makes it a Right hung door) Just had this discussion with my sisters workmen two different fitters and both did not know how to...
