Tips for pouring paint/varnishes without mess.

I use just a clean stick held flat over the tin. The paint runs down the stick into whateve is below. Works a treat.

    Norm's Adirondack Chair

They are Stills, Andy. In fact they are part of this thread. Thank you. Not everybody seems to think so. Someone, I don't know who, watched the first one and Disliked it. Then because he didn't like it, he watch Part 2 and Disliked that too. And because he'd watched two films he didn't like, he...

No longer remotely Shaker(ish) dining table

That is very elegant, custard, very nice indeed. What I'm doing now is just to tide me over. I've been without a proper dining table for 9 years and am fed up of my dining room looking like a timber yard. So having got the top sorted, I just want a quick and dirty undercarriage until I can get...

No longer remotely Shaker(ish) dining table

Blow the cobwebs off this... The top has been leaning up in my dining room ever since this started. I didn't realise it has been so long! I'm still keen to attempt my original design idea, and I've worked out how I can do it. But it requires a VERY particular board for the pillars and as yet...

Tools and machines for my workshop?

If you (perhaps that should read "When you) go down the tracksaw route, you will need three things: My setting gauge and length guage on an MFT - A cutting table. The Tiddles had a great idea and then a few of us played about with it a bit. Superb result...

Tools and machines for my workshop?

Track saw, I forgot about that. Best way to handle sheet goods, short of having an Altendorf :)

Tools and machines for my workshop?

Bandsaw v. Tablesaw. I have both. I use both, I love both, I'm glad I have both. But if a gun was put to my head to choose just one, it would be the bandsaw.

Tools and machines for my workshop?

Ah yes, a Planer/Thicknesser. I have a Kity 637. Excellent as far as it goes and has done me sterling fo many, many years. I wish it had longer beds (mine are 600mm in and out), so that's OK for lengths up to, say, 1.6m. But if I am trying to true timber up to 2.4m then that is a bit short and...

Tools and machines for my workshop?

OK, Sebastian, that is clearer (but I still think you are a tad bonkers :) ). (That's OK I am a tad bonkers, too, just in different ways :) ) This is what I have and would have again if I were starting from scratch. RT. Buy Norm Abram's plan for his Deluxe Router table. Any Brimarc dealer. It...

Tools and machines for my workshop?

Wow. Each to his own. of course, but I'm not sure that you are approaching this in the same way that I would. IIUYC you are asking what machines you need. I think you should start with, "What do I want to achieve with my woodwork?" I have everything on your list, and a lot more besides, but I...

HELP ! , Where can I buy one of these ?

I wonder if, under the new regime, I'm allowed to promote my own website? :) All mine are female, but I could chuck in a short length of M6 studding, FOC, if you are buying a few. A dab of Loctite and you have male ones.

    Not shooting straight!

I have the same problem actually, I have to use the lateral adjuster to get mine right. In my case I think the problemis that my baseboard is made of two layers, to get the step, and I I think it is acting a bit like a bi-metalic strip, one layer moving more than the other.

    Planer blade sharpening jig

If you have 3 to sharpen, you can do them in pairs, counting the number of strokes. A+B, A+C, B+C.
