IIRC Dame Judy Dench has planted a few.

    table

You are absolutely right, Mike. But I was pointing out the importance of checking accessibility. I used to feel that tables were always too low. After all, they were basically copying Victorian standards, when people were considerably shorter. But I made my last one 30.5", and I didn't realise...

Give a tenner to charity: mystery box

Careful. I was originally christened six-and-seven-eighths because my dad pulled my name out of a hat. Coat. S

Give a tenner to charity: mystery box

Oi! You lot are all just a bunch of Johnny-cum-Latelys. (Or should that be Latelies? It's definitely not Lately's).

    table

Bear in mind that a traditional house doorway is 30" wide. If you make it any higher, life becomes difficult. DAMHIKT.

Ooh, that's a shame. I have one on my drill press and it is excellent, I really love it. Wait - ah, oops, perhaps that was not quite the right thing to say... :?

    Who's responsible for water supplies?

Quite possibly, this is a Band A property. Grateful for small mercies, eh?

    Who's responsible for water supplies?

Not explicitly, no, but we all think it would be property by property, and I'd rather have to fork out 150 than 500+ Too late, I've already handed over the money. I'm between a rock and a hard place :( Edit - Wrong emoji!

    Who's responsible for water supplies?

The problem is that if there is no agreed solution by TOMORROW, then ST have the right to come in, fix the leak and charge us. They have me over a barrel. They are all stewards who work in a pub.

    Who's responsible for water supplies?

Update. None of us wants a ST bill, which we are told will be >2K. One of the 6 people who share the drive has had a quote for £600. The other drive-sharers would rather try to fix the problem DIY. I offered to help. We dug a hole, but not deep enough and we did not find the leak. The other...

    Heating allowance

I'm doing my bit. I've planted a 3-way Family Apple tree (Bramley, Christmas Pippin and something else, I can't remember. Scrumptious? I have a Conference / Concorde pear tree ready to plant just as soon as the "garden" gets a bit drier than an Olympic swimming pool, and yesterday I took...

    Wardrobe

I've been getting the bag ready. My "proper" bag is just a bit too small, so I bought a 6x2m roll of greenhouse polythene. It comes folded in half and rolled, so I already have one good sealed edge. So, on my mate Charlie's deck, I squirted a good dollop of silicone down the open edge. The...

    Heating allowance

My mum used to get it, and enhanced because she was over 75. All sorts of other benefits too. She was regarded as low income. Her income was more than twice what mine is now. Go figure.
