    Budget board stuff

Sections seems a good idea. Now I think about it, the ceiling is board so there must be a frame there I can pin it to. Less wobble then.. I wouldn't be hanging much on it, just a few tools.its a very secondary function. I must confess I really hadn't thought this through!

    Budget board stuff

Well on the utility side of the divider there will be floor standing shelving blocking the way! On the other side will be workshop stuff. Being openable is a nice idea but there's limited use to it, not to mention extra time/materials/cost! @Sachakins - I see I mis-phrased my original...

    Budget board stuff

Would have to be attached or it would fall over! But I'm thinking 3 or 4 brackets on each side, and screws. Maybe some sort of fluffy dust barrier round the edges

    Budget board stuff

I want to divide our double garage across-ways so the back of it can be a utility room and the front can be my workshop. I'd like the divider to be non-permanent, so it's just held up by some brackets at either end, in case it needs to be moved or removed (also needs to fit around the electric...

    Little Box

    Wow - that's so nice!

Is it worth buying premium tools if you don't use them enough ? Metabo grinder.

My Metabo angle grinder was a birthday pressie a couple of years ago. So nice to use you can forget you're holding a dangerous spinney thing... Shame they don't do the magic orange button anymore. Missed out there! At the time, I researched into the Metabo/Hikoki situation. Apparently the...

    Interesting plastic drilling

+1 for melting! My soldering iron comes in for serious misuse when Mrs runs out of plant pots!

    Interesting plastic drilling

I looked at a PC case mod project some years ago. Lots of drilling of plastics, acrylic included. The modder said instead getting very expensive special drill bits for the job, drilling into concrete with normal bits before drilling the plastics with them gave lovely clean holes! Also easier...

    What van do I buy?

My employer has given me a new transit connect every 3 years since I started. I know it's too small for what you want but I guess the experience applies to transits in general. My favourite one was the first, that have the grooves along the sides. They went downhill after that. So by vintage...

    Folding sawhorse idea

Good idea - I have a very distant memory of those from somewhere but had completely forgotten. Might get a set - thanks! Plank nailed onto the top would also make a clamping space.

    Folding sawhorse idea

That's a really good idea. How tall is it, roughly? I never thought to make the legs fold endways...

    What is this?

Just been around Lidl, spotted a 4 arm sliding thing in the danger aisle like the yellow "MAVURA Tools Angle Template Protractor Adjustable Contour Gauge Stencil Ruler Angle Measuring Device Angle Bevel Stairs Tiles Measuring Angle Forceps" (forceps?) but in black aluminium so I had a little...

    What is this?

It's more similar I think. I recon XTiffy must be right because I can't find anything else like what I remember except the extended angle measure, which still doesn't look right! It's frustrating because I thought at the time they were using a standard tool for this type of thing that I just...

    What is this?

Was watched via a device other than the 'putrer, that's probably been replaced since then, and anything up to 10 years ago. Good thought though!

    What is this?

Like the link in post #2? Or different? I really am going to have to try to find the video because the details are so fuzzy. It was more like 2 or more sliding bevels joined together (but thin) so arms could actually stick out of it. Not sure if it had a middle bit. I'm sure they actually...

    What is this?

Well I'd been looking at the fixed triangular ones, but yes, that is their original purpose.

    What is this?

Possibly more like the yellow one but I'm not sure now. I don't think theirs had such a lot of flexibility. Is there something more like the Magnusson one but where the arms cross? Sorry to be a pain, it's been sat in the back of my head all this time and decided to surface when I was looking...

    What is this?

First one maybe, second one no. I think it was more like 2 crosses, or 2 diamonds joined at the ends to there was a cross in the middle. But maybe I'm just imagining extra parts. I don't think it had actual angles marked on it. Am I going to have to watch hundreds of shed builds until I find the...

    Folding sawhorse idea

Remarkably similar to this: https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/threads/portable-japanese-sawhorse.97974/post-1060630 - the thread got me started and has some inspiring ideas, but I really do want 1 piece stands.
