Low cost DIY Router Table lift facility

I did read the last few posts, low on time I have a cheap aluminium pkate from ebay, about 250mm x 300mm, drilled to take both my 1/2" hitachi m12 and a makita palm router. If u upgrade the router look at the hitachi, perfect for the money. As for the cabinet, how about the router being...

    Confession….I have a tool addiction

To a degree, we are all like that. Ive got more kit than i can shake a mini digger at, the only difference is I'm in the trade, so i can 'justify' my tool purchases. I currently have 3 8x4 plant trailers ☹️🤷‍♂️ i only need 1! Ive got more powered saws than i can remember 😆 I need to sort...

MFT and Rail Square - my thoughts

I bought 3 x 1.5m tracks and a pair of joiners. You are supposed to use 2 pairs of joiners per joint. The 1.5m tracks were about 50 quid each so i thought 2 would make a 3m track for 2.4m rips and a 1.5m for the 1.2m cuts. So far ive used it as low down as 400mm but could use a shorter rail, so...

MFT and Rail Square - my thoughts

🙃 ive only recently caved in and got a tracksaw. I resisted for years because my 18v circular saws are just so good...... and ive got a clean new looking one and a site basher.... Anyway, i got a tracksaw. Nearly bought the mafell, but lots of reviews stated that the makita is nearly as good...

MFT and Rail Square - my thoughts

I havent recieved the mft jig yet, so the framework is fixed to the top, just sat on it. I left 50mm all around for clamping. The frame pieces are 80mm, which should be pretty stable. I'll almost certainly fit a border of mdf to the underside to stop the frame getting bashed apart as it's only...

MFT and Rail Square - my thoughts

Ive just ordered an mft template jig thing and started a torsion box for site use. It made sense in my head to do it as a full 8x4 but i ended up using a sheet of 12mm for the top, nearly a whole sheet for the torsion box slats and then realised its gonna be heavy 🤣 I'll probably skip the...

    milling a 4mm wide slot

What about those side cutting drill bits? Or an end mill..... you could start by drilling the 2 sides at the correct angle and then use the bit to pivot inbetween the two holes if you get what i mean?

    Floor tiles.

Hi Phil, I cant offer a specific product, but you might want to look into marmox load bearing insulation. It is used as a thermal break at damp proof level of blockwork. I personally have no experience of it, but did stumble across it researching a quote
