    Grass

Hi, i have a grass problem ( garden variety ) About 3 years ago i did some work in our garden moving a bank and levelling. I had a mini digger and power barrow in there. Once the soil was level, i raked over it and laid turf, watered etc... It took hold just fine. With last years heat, the...

The end of woodwork as we know it?

I was learning guitar ( had do pause that due to lack of time 😒 having 3 kids and a business to run kinda swallows up my entire life ) and i was interested in banjo because they look similar. My guitar tutor said that you kind of play with a claw on the strumming hand? So it's quite different...

    Insulation - dumb question?

It shouldnt hurt. If the plastic is adhered in any way, its probably meant to stay..... i believe current regs for that epc thing is 270mm of cozywrap...... obviously anything will help, the more the better. Watch out for light fittings.... if halogen or anything else that gets hot, you have to...

Best joinery methods for melamine faced chipboard

I would suggest what Xtiffy said.... treat it like kitchen cabinets with a decor end panel and then you can screw the cabs together, the decor panels hide the screws....

    Found some space

If you do it quietly, you could build yourself a loft conversion / mancave up there 😉😜 In fact, if you do it quick, wait 10 years and then claim it for yourself under squatters rights 😆🤣

MFT and Rail Square - my thoughts

Actually, no. The frame and top are still seperate and I was half thinking of a slide in cleat system to lock them together or simply having blocks glued and screwed to the frame and screwed to the top so it can be moved separately..... i was pondering that while dying of boredom, but didn't...

MFT and Rail Square - my thoughts

I had a mind numbing couple of hours this afternoon.... by the end I'd nearly lost the will to mft! 😆 Just ordered these dogs off ebay to get me going.

Please help - messed up the floorboards

As said above, the osmo is an oil with a tint. Loads of shades to choose from.... the osmo should be fine over a stain

Please help - messed up the floorboards

How about trying some tinted oil, but with a whitener? Osmo ( and others ) do some and as you build up coats, it will become whiter. A couple of coats might obsure it quite well?

    Prosecco wall

I had to google it, but looks like people use mdf shelves with cutouts for glass stems.

Why do so many woodworking youtubers use Blues/Bluegrass background music

Peter millionard 😆 To be fair , peter has it weighed off quite well, i like the overall presentation and no nonsense, balanced episodes.... plus, the time / length is important

MFT and Rail Square - my thoughts

For knocking up studwork, skirtings, cutting mouldings ( or any timber lengths ) a mitre saw quickly pays for itself. I bought my first for about 400 quid 22 / 23 years ago, just a 216mm dewalt with little legs that fitted onto rails that slid into the base..... it lasted around 14 years and...

MFT and Rail Square - my thoughts

To be fair jacob, if you were, let's say 40, and had a fair few years of site work ahead before you could retire, would you consider a tracksaw? Also, which tool, in your worklife, was the biggest development? There's no agenda here, I'm interested in seeing if your time of work_life affects...

MFT and Rail Square - my thoughts

So looking at the benchdogs square, with measuring thingy, its about 240 quid inc vat? Do you know how accurate it is over 2.4m? Have you looked at the mft clamps on ebay? Theres bessey ones and the festool lever types. Im thinking the lever types would deform the holes over time if you used...

MFT and Rail Square - my thoughts

I considered 2 parts but decided 1 part would be easier to get the dog holes perfect and not struggling to get tables fully aligned on uneven gound etc.... mine will be taken to jobs that are big enough to warrant taking it. Now ive got the jig, i can knock up others if needed..... itd be quick...
