    New Makita 2704NS1 Table Saw

Is the sawstop based on the blade sensing 'blood'? If so, you'll find you cant cut damp wood, it trips the sensor. 🤔 maybe they'll do one that works on dna, so you programme it to know your blood specifically, that way any thieving gets or people buying hooky kit can still chop off their bits 😆🤣

workbench for tracksaw - which direction?

Torsion box with cnc'd mft top? For a rail you could clamp a rail to the mft dead parallel to an edge, then drill through using a 20mm bit or whatever, so the holes are perfect with the top. Then glue 20mm dowels into the rail so the rail can be removable. The hinge setup can be fitted to the...

Guaranteeing building work - how long?

When i was a lot younger i got caught on a kitchen fit. I had plenty of money in the bank ( single and worked a lot ) and at the end of each month I'd pay my suppliers. I did a kitchen supply and fit.... it took months to get the money as the woman in question didnt have any! She got me to do...

Guaranteeing building work - how long?

Mr boss owns the doors. Big builders liquidation settlement owes the chippy, the chippy owes fred bloggs. Fred doesnt care if big builder has paid or not, the chippie has the debt with fred.

To whomever is stealing my pencils..

Ive been using mechanical pencils on and off for a few years, including tracers. My main gripe is the lead often breaks within the pencils if the pencils get dropped, which happens on building sites fairly regularly 😑 or at least it does to me! In tesco, right before a new school term, they...

    For Sale Various items ..

I had one an x21 i think it was called. It was suprisingly limited for me.... it must be aimed at small scale window and door production, certainly wasnt any good for sheet material of any size

Guaranteeing building work - how long?

Years ago i worked for a company that did emergency glazing. We got called out to replace a pane in a sash window. Customer was a solicitor...... All went well but she didnt pay the bill. After a few weeks the boss phoned her and she said she had forwarded the bill to the landlady who was...

Is this old grinder worth keeping?

Sorry for your loss. I have a wet grinder the same ( different colour ) and its fine. The plastic water bath is weak, so dont put strain on it. Mine didnt have a tool rest.... i always hold the chisel on the higher lip of the black plastic ( at the back of the wheel ) and the wheel turns away...

    Beginning to use hardwoods

Theres good info above, depending how you buy you timber, a bandsaw / tablesaw, planer thicknesser and ideally a small spindle moulder would be the way forward. What workspace do you have? In terms of timber, you need to look at grain patterns and end grain to start to build a pucture of how...

    Hire a Micro Digger?

Mini dumpers come into their own when either: Theres narrow access for other machines Sloped terrain Heavy kit to move If youve got a bad back Ive got one, slow, like 5kph, but moves 500kg per load, which is a lot more than a standard wheelbarrow. Hydraulic tip. Perfect in the mud or any...

    Maximum height of boundary....

As @Blackswanwood said, itd likely be 2.5 at the location of the shed, not 2.5m from the highest point of your property boundary. Including planning and where needed building control is a very good move, you'll be on a losing battle if you exclude them. Ask questions and be polite, you'll get...
