    Eucalyptus Plywood?

I had a load of 18mm eucalyptus ply for structural flooring. It wasnt great quality, although there may be different grades. I can tell you though, that 3 sheets, stored undercover but in a building without heating, twisted and started to delaminate. It was all jewsons could get at that time. I...

Nilfisk Multi II hose handle - removable or works okay with sander?

Thats a timely ask.... i have a multi 30. The ends can be unclipped, but it'll weaken it after a while. Id actually recommended buying the centec adaptors kit and swapping the end to that setup. On a side note, my multi has had an intermittent power button problem since i got it ( about 8...

Dewalt Battery DC 618 Nail Gun convert to mains powered?

I dont think itd be straightforward, youd # probably # need a donor 18v battery and a charger to take to bits to supply it the 18v. Do you have any other batteries ( makita etc ) If not, youd be better off selling it and getting something else. Theres an adapter for the flexvolt to use as...

    setting up a workshop costs

Echoing others, it's important to know your market and have a customer base. You need to have a contingency of maybe 30 percent more than you think you need, which acts as a float. In terms of the start of this thread ( all those years ago ) not having full insurance is plain stupid. Imagine...

Hi, make sure the whole surface of the board is free from the previous finish, then mix oxalic with warm / hot water, brush on over the whole cill evenly...... wait a few minutes and then wipe it off with clean water. If this hasnt given the desired effect, go again. Oxalic is great for this...

    What's this then

Yes, like Japanese chisels so you only have to keep the first 3 or 4mm flat, but some comments are like that obsession.... often not necessary, sometimes a positive disadvantage

    What's this then

Ahhhh. We dont get these luxury add_ons in the u.k. i feel cheated now, the amount of mdf skirtings i could have scribed in with my face, saving me the need to buy a jigsaw. Maybe festool can come up with something? And maybe a buttcrack planer block, allowing me to thickness 4x2s inbetween my...

    What's this then

In fact, why not point out he doesnt need a spokeshave? An axe would do, or failing that, just chew the wood down with his teeth? Unless he has dentures i guess 🤷 It's true that you wouldn't use a spokeshave to take a blades width pass and attempt to use it like a no4, but equally, as it only...

    What's this then

You might want to consider oil or water as lube..... i use oil, not everyone does, but it takes away the metal dust and prevents the stone clogging

    Replacement Roof for garage cost?

We use a skip company who drop off a skip and thick plastic. We line the skip with a sheet big enough to load the skip out and then fold the plastic around to envelope the asbestos and tape it up...... A 6 yard full of asbestos slates was about 1800 quid
