Kickback and circle marks when using router sled with new flattening bit

Ive got a chunky 50mm trend flat bottom cutter in 1/2". I run it on a hitachi m12 ( 2kw i think ) and it'll do 4mm at half cutter width quite well, but its a heavy duty setup and i hang on tight / keep a bit of downwards pressure. Rather than binning your sled, set it to take off half a mm to 1...

    A lightbulb moment, but...

If you tried a more known / respectable brand and it pops, you might need a sparky to test the wiring?

    Ventilation for built in wardrobe/closet

How about instead of modifying the doors, modify the base and head of the cabinet? I.e, have a recessed area to allow the air through behind the door. I have no idea what your cabs are made of etc, so it might not be a suitable idea

    Cosy Workshop

The workshop or the heater? Officially I have a workshop. Unofficially I also have a storage container. I cant recall discussing the heater, but its an essential item, so 🤷

    Heating a insulated workshop

This'll make you giggle.... on the news just now, theyve announced a level A cold alert ( sounds serious ) and apparently the uk is in for 7 days of cold with temps as low as -10°c

    Cosy Workshop

I had a few hours in my workshop today, first time in months. I now have a diesel space heater, fantastic bit of kit.... can chew through fuel though

    Interesting Curvy Build

Great video. It'd be pretty awesome to have the space and time to have a crack at some creative pieces instead of building work 👍

    Heating a insulated workshop

But how?!? It sounds like it'd be impossible 😆 I cant imagine how cold you'd be, in a flesh tent with no central heating! Did they have fires in them? Was it just body warmth and more hides as blankets? 🤔 nookie must've been difficult, not much privacy and if your leg was out from under the...

    Infared heater in garage.

That'll cost a bit to run 😬 i had ( have but dont use ) and lpg ir heater but it didnt do a lot. I recently bought a diesel space heater which i needed on a job to dry out a floor. It runs on heating oil too, which is cheaper ( just ) but at full tilt it can burn 10 ltrs in about 3 hours 😆 I...

    Card table top

If you want it flush, you make a rebate at the top of the oak trim. The rebate needs to be the thickness of the mdf or ply top, with felt attached.... Or you could skip the rebate and simply fix it to the ply, making sure you line it up flush, but I'd strongly recommend trying the rebate as...

    Card table top

Can you do mitres? If so, cut your ply / mdf top, cover it and then you could edge it with mitred oak, maybe 45mm x 20mm so it appears thick... or router a groove on the back of the oak before you mitre it, to slot the board into? Or set the board 15mm down from the top and infil the oak...

    Simple sharpening from 1900s

My brother has a big old round stone, and is in a big metal frame. I'll try to get a photo next time im there.

    Heating a insulated workshop

I like d_w's suggestion of a heated cabinet for the glue and finishes, thats dead easy and quick. Maybe you could get super efficient and build the partitions on rollers, so you can move them around and change configuration ( maybe they are 2.4m long sections ) You'd have to see how parallel the...

    Random Nails (Identification Help Needed)

I should add, spit nails would be in a plastic strip, not loose in a bucket and would be hard as, well, nails, not swiss cheese as op said. Maybe a better in focus photo of the head to prove or disprove the rivet theory

    Random Nails (Identification Help Needed)

To be fair, they do look like rivets but the photo isnt perfect..... Ive got a feeling ive seen something similar in the past used in a spit gun ( nails ) 🤔
