Can you please post a photo of the front of the house?

Advice needed - How this entrance can be thermally insulated?

I'm specifically asking about the visable brickwork walls that the front door is inbetween.... are they cavity or single skin brick?

    Spiral cutter head blades stuck

I dont have much to offer beyond what has been suggested, but in the past, turning a bolt to tighten just slightly, then undo, has worked. I'd be very interested to hear the ending to this, so keep us updated when you get them undone.... anti sieze sounds like a plan for when you put it back...

    Electric advice urgently required

Im here! Yes, i can pop round boxing day and dig the wall out 😆 if it still doesnt work i could 'remove' the lights with a 1' toothed bucket.... i might need to make a small hole in the wall to get the digger in though 👍

Advice needed - How this entrance can be thermally insulated?

To be clear, is the brickwork ( that we can see from the inside ) a single skin, or cavity wall? If cavity wall, exterior damp ( rain ) shouldnt soak into the interior leaf unless wall ties are wrong or cavity fill is absorbent, transmitting the damp. The original construction wouldn't have had...

Advice needed - How this entrance can be thermally insulated?

to address the dehumidifier and drying options again, i wouldnt bother. The brickwork ( im assuming ) is from the original porch and unlikely to be a cavity wall, so it will lerp getting wet. The tiled area is an external bit of ground, without dpc, so damp will continue there too. You need to...

    044 plough plane spares?

Less about money, more about keeping the planes going..... seems wasteful to bin them after one small component breaks

Advice needed - How this entrance can be thermally insulated?

Just to throw my 2p in.... Doug71 hit it on the head. Rather than sucking out moisture from the bricks, which is an endless task in the winter, you need to vandex the brick walls and floor areas. ( its a tanking slurry ) and then as said previously, use pir backed insulation on the walls...

Thicknesser is blowing fuses - help please!

I had a cap go on a dewalt planer, it just hummed. With a long scrap of wood to nudge the block ( approaching from behind!! ) it spun up just fine. 6 quid for the cap and it was fine again

    Hydro power from small river?

A guy i used to work for went into making hydro electric dams . I think his first was on dartmoor. From what i was told ( by someone else ) it was a real struggle and nearly sent him under. I havent spoken to him about it, so thats just what i heard.

    044 plough plane spares?

When the new one rocks up I'll trace round it on cardboard and stick the cardboard in the shed..... then when / if i ever get time, i might have a crack at making a couple. It seems a shame to junk so many planes just because the clamp is missing. If it looks like a p.i.t.a, i probably wont...

    Rule joint

I would think as long as the cove and round over bits have the same radius, it'll be fine? Ive seen that sort of arrangement and it had a square 4 or 5mm top portion where the surfaces met, with the cove and roundover underneath

    044 plough plane spares?

Quick update, after trawling ebay, i bought a 'body only' for £18 including delivery. The body contains a blade and clamp though 👍

    044 plough plane spares?

Yep, im suprised someone hasnt started knocking them out and putting them on ebay for 15 quid! I wonder if a 3d printer would produce something strong/ rigid enough?

    Unlocking a mac

A crowbar and an estwing? That unlocks quite a few things 🤷‍♂️ Where do you live? You could look out for a local street gang, chuck them 50 quid and a bottle of white lightning, they'll have it done in no time 😆
