    Prop shaft balancing

Thanks all for the comments.... i got lucky in the end, I was talking to a neighbour who is a marine engineer. He googled it ( which i had tried ) and found a bit of info suggesting the yokes should be inline to balance the prop. I then realised i had been pretty dumb, because the rear half was...

    Prop shaft balancing

Thanks roy, but in terms of nailing the position of the yoke on the splines to get the prop balanced again..... Currently im thinking i might take the shaft off, and just have the yoke and prop bolted in, with bearing, and see if i can detect any wobble.... if so i might be able to figure it out...

    Prop shaft balancing

😔😒 I failed today..... my L200 needed a new propshaft centre bearing, so i bought a new one from mitsubishi ( the aftermarket ones often dont last well ) Anyway, i took it off, split the u.j, took the yoke off, pulled the bearing and then reassembled. When i drove it a few hours later, it had...

Bosch professional jigsaw blades for scaffolding boards

Ive been doing it with pendulum on for about 26 years and have never broken a holder. Ive had a couple of blades snap but that has mostly happened on straight cuts doing laminate when that was an in thing..... and the pendulum definitely speeds up curves, it'd be interesting to do a few tests in...

Bosch professional jigsaw blades for scaffolding boards

Yesterday i was on daddy daycare duty, so i couldnt look at my jigsaw. Today im back on site. @Doug71 Is correct, the blade actually moves backwards when swing is engaged, not forwards as i said..... with zero swing the blade is at 90 to the base. My makita moves backwards about 5mm on full...

    Douglas Fir Protection

It does depend how far you go with it.... just torching the surface a bit will help bring the sap to the surface and protect the wood for a bit longer, but to do it pproperlyyou have to charr the wood. Interestingly, if you just torch the surface a bit, it will fade in the sunlight..... and end...

Bosch professional jigsaw blades for scaffolding boards

Hi lefley, not wanting to teach you to suck eggs, but that 3 position lever is a pendulum swing. If it is set to 0 , then the blades just goes up and down. This is the setting for downwards cutting blades and can be used for slow cutting curves, although it is much slower. As you progress...

Best way to create wooden screening in the garden?

If you got creative and laminate yourself 3 x long curves out pf thin strips, it'd probably be just about sturdy enough when tied together...... the ground anchoring being important, i.e posts set in concrete every 1.8m, the 3 curved horizontal rails fixed to posts and battens fixed to the...
