    Chopping boards

Theres tons of inspiration on pinterest 😵‍💫 Edit to add...... why not use darker timber to create the tongues and then groove both sides of the oak to be joined, this would make a feature of the tongues in the end grain

New Combi Boiler but No Flush and No Filter?

Bg did a boiler service for me a few years ago, including a 'clean through'. The following year it broke down and I got w/b breakdown service. It cost me, but the service guy replaced lots of parts because he had them and when he took the jacket off he was suprised it had carried on that long...

How to bring 2 tons of wall down single-handed

    Dust Extraction

Not stupid, maybe a bit misunderstood.... In terms of air purification, i would think if the extractor / existing filter bag were doing their job correctly, the fine dust would be under control. Ideally your dx is powerful enough to suck away the vast majority of dust and chips and ideally...

I tried clicking on the link but my s/fix app opens instead and doesn't show a product, just homepage ( its really annoying when it does that ) Anyway, you can get oxalic on ebay, amazon, any boat chandlers. It comes from rhubarb

    Dust Extraction

Im confused 😕 If youve got fine dust, either the suction isnt up to it or the extractor is inside your workspace and the filter bag is letting it out ( air has to pass through that bag ) A lot of commercial setups have dx outside. you could skip the greenhouse, lights and shrubbery by venting...

Advice please re: blade for 10" table saw

+1 on the bandsaw suggestion. Just to add to your dilemma, just because your saw can take a 10" blade, you dont have to fit one. I.e, you could get an 8" or smaller as long as the arbour size is correct and #as previously mentioned# the riving knife thickness falks between blade plate and kerf...

What have I done wrong? Carcass not square

To be fair, after he is used to his kit and confident in it's accuracy, he will settle into using it all without the need to check.... we all want to achieve perfection ( or at least look like it ) 😁

What have I done wrong? Carcass not square

Dont forget to tell him about the virtues of an axe for shooting in doors 😉 On a serious note, having plenty of levels and squares etc isnt a bad thing, especially when they are spread around a site 😀 ive got about 8 tape measures spread around my current job 🤣

Cutting and bending 6mm sheet steel on a budget

I have ( many times ) easily bent 5x30 wall plate straps to various angles. I have an offcut of I beam about 500mm long. I mark where i want the bend, place the mark inlibe with the edge of the I beam, put a 500mm lump of 6x2 over it, clamp in place securely with 2 f clamps, them whack it...

Advice on a combination machine most likely to come up in the UK

Brizzle to plymuff?? 🙃 Get good insurance 😉 On a serious note, what exactly are you going to be making? I had a robland/ startrite combo, it was a halfway house that didnt tick any boxes for me. Newer machines will be better, but on mine, the tablesaw was not coplanar to the planer, so you...

    oscillating sanders

Ive got the triton bobbin one, same issue.... as others have suggested, i put some duct tape round the rubber bobbin. Mine only came with the original sandpapers and i havent destroyed any of them yet ( so i can't say if the rubber has shrunk or the belt expanded ) Tightening the nut and washer...
