What sealant should be used before tiling?

As spectric said, tanking is ideal. A lot of people run silicone around the tray, then tile, then a second bead of silicone.

Mitre saw wood blade v Brad nails

They are usually quite soft. You could test yours by snapping one off the strip and cutting it with side cutters or pliers. I have hit a couple chiselling out latch receivers and they chipped the chisel ( which was dumb because I fired in the pins 😆🤣 these days i mark the rough height and avoid...

    Table Saw Safety

Wether a business setting or club, i would seriously consider paying a private health and safety advisor for a one off visit to look at any machinery and give an opinion on legality ( needing brakes / guards etc ) and to provide guidance on who could potentially use it. This means, for instance...

    Affordable vs Pride

Howdens are losing lots of kitchens to wren because of the finance. My local rep said theyve had a few jobs lately where they were cheaper than wren ( quite a bit ) but still lost the sales because the customers took the finance offer

    Affordable vs Pride

If its a large outlay in materials i ask for material costs when i start the job. I make that clear when i price. I once fitted a kitchen for a nice lady, who it turned out didnt have any money. It took a couple of months for her to secure a loan because she had bad credit history. I was early...

Cutting Aluminium sheet with track saw

Ahhh, see youve got it all wrong! You just don't tell her 🤣 if you are really worried, put some paint splodges on it, wipe some oil on it and crudely carve 'bob' on the handle..... then if you get found out, its an old second hand saw 😆😁😉 mind you, how many shoes / handbags / pairs of jeans does...

    Affordable vs Pride

Some great advice above.... @frankendoodle65 raised a great point regarding showing the customer the quality of your doors etc. Next time you are making shakers for instance, run a couple of extra lengths for stiles / rails and make up a couple of small doors. One unfinished to show the medite...

Didnt rutlands have a quick change 4" fitting?

    Affordable vs Pride

Very similar to Colin above, give them a ballpark and see if they flinch. The real question is, how much work do you have? Often, making cuts to cheapen a service results in a lesser quality job / experience. Im not saying you wouldn't do a decent job, just saying that if you loose any...

    Which size Kity 613 tyres?

Mine had the 24mm, but thats not to say yours is..... Just as importantly though, is the tyre thickness.... from memory the first set i bought were 2.4mm? Thick but the saw wouldn't tension properly. With the help of a couple of forum members ( sachakins and chippymint ) we found that the...

    New (old) Inca 205 bandsaw

To be fair, I'd take it to a local engineer. Sure, they'll charge, but they'll straighten, maybe even strengthen the table, easily replace the bolt , even if it whitworth and should be able to tig up the crack.... Maybe email a couple of local companies 🤔

Which type of bearing to use?

But as inspector said, wouldn't plastic flanged bushes work? Youd have, in effect, 6 per bolted joint. The bush holes through the extrusion need to be accurate ( no play ) and can be tightened up fairly well. The fact they are self lubricating would indicate they'll still allow the parts to...

Anybody know what this tool is?

Its a cat brush. You get your neighbours cat, pin it down on the workbench and brush until the hair is gone, then release said cat..... top job!

    remove stickiness from work gloves

I searched for sticky tool: https://www.ukworkshop.co.uk/threads/help-please-tool-gone-all-sticky-outside.136564/ Luckily it was a forum search, not google, which would have given a slightly different outcome 🤣

    remove stickiness from work gloves

Aggghh. Yeah, there was a thread on that a while back but im pretty sure it was chisel or hammer handles? I cant remember the solution 😔

    Rounding off Plane Iron Corners

I guess so .... its not controversial. Do you have descending damp issues? 🤔 Edit to ask: is descending damp a wet leg?
