Water sitting in centre of shower tray

Ive just fitted 2.... one on sand and cement because we had to build up 30mm to match underfloor heating thickness, the other was laid on a new ply floor. That one was primed on ply, then tile adhesive to fit the tray.... i used flexi floor adhesive, bagged.

    Black paint on putty

In an attempt to answer the op question on putty.... I used to work for a builder who did emergency glazing and we often used putty in the winter..... we would keep it in the truck footwell and have the heater blasting warm air at it on the way to a job so it was supple when we needed it. I...

    Double glazing bent spacer bars?

May be worth recommending the customer contacts the supplier to see if they'll replace the units ( depending how old they are ) as the manufacturer may stand by their work.....

Spray kit recommendations ( walls and cabinets )

Hi Tony, Ive used hvlp and lvlp through my compressor to spray cellulose in the past, but for a house ( which was my primary use for the setup ) an airless made sense, plus it has the hopper setup to convert to using smaller quantities of paint for built in furniture etc👍

    Getting on Conservatory roof

That lead flashing is too long for one piece. I think current regs are 1.5m? This is to allow expansion and shrinkage, otherwise it tends to split

Internal doors - "solid" oak and other queries

Something like this, but mine is simpler and uses a wedge between door and upright to take up the slack

Internal doors - "solid" oak and other queries

Yes pine, but i think mouldings would have been added at the time of manufacture. For door holding jigs, you only need a metre or 2 of 4x2.... I'll post a pik of my setup on Thursday ( im away from site at the mo ) Dead easy to knock up and you just want 4 or 5 wedges kicking around to allow...

Is there a clever way to support shelves under a slope, like the Hafele 5mm shelf supports?

Can you put in rebates prior to assembly and then slot the shelves in? Do you have a domino? In fact, if you drilled a pair of dowels through the shelf and cab, and a 5mm hafelle shelf support, it'd self support.... See pik

    Strat neck faulty

Im a bit fuzzy on this, but try the 12th low e against 7th a ..... im pretty sure i read somewhere that the harmonic wasnt actually an accurate way to check intonation and by setting the strings using that method meant the high e would always be noticeably off. If packing the bridge pushes the...

Internal doors - "solid" oak and other queries

In terms of jigs, you dont have to spend out.... this was made with an offcut of mdf ( one side was a manufactured edge ) and a couple of bits of pine to locate it for clamping to the doors / linings. I put a couple of screw holes where the stops are going to cover them. 3mm packer on top to...

Should I buy a spindle moulder rather than router table??

Ive got a small spindle moulder, an axminster one from the 90s, it has an 18mm shaft, and bore rings to use 30mm and 31mm blocks, plus a router collet setup. I only have one euro block and a number of knives and limiters. I also have 3 routers. The big hitachi is for kitchen tops etc, the palm...
