Impact Driver : Bosch Blue or Metabo

Bosch for me. 2 reasons. One, I really like and rate their tools. I have a number of the 18v and 12v tools, plus their table saw. Two, Bosch tools is predominantly owned by the Robert Bosch Stiftung (foundation). The profits from the many Bosch companies fund the work of the foundation. They...

"Well, I woke up this mornin'..."

Hi Cozzer, I joined the Club officially on 1st April. From the Nationwide as well. I got a snotty letter saying my deal was up and that they would commence charging me much more interest. This was in early March when my fixed rate deal ended on 31/3. They gave me loads of expensive options to...

    Lathe Tool Storage Rack

I've got a simple rack, with a single solid base. But it would be easy to replace that with say a couple of dowels that would allow any shavings etc to drop through. e.g. something like this

    DX delivery service from Axminster

Last year I bought what seemed like the last LN bevel edge chisel in the country at the time from Axminster. They shipped it via DPD. Now DPD, whose sole job is to deliver parcels to the recipient, cannot get into their systems (or skulls) that my house and the same numbered house on the next...

    Metabo SXE450 advice please

Hi @2sheds I'd never removed that until last week, when I had to take the sander apart to replace the power lead - it had split. So I've now removed it twice and it is M8 with the thread 16mm.

    Office Furniture

Afternoon all, I thought I would dig up this thread as I have finally got round to finishing this project. I reckon it has taken me approx. 2 years from finishing the prototype pedestal to getting this finished today. What with lockdowns, material shortages and work commitments, it took me...

SHOW ME- Your plane storage ideas

Mine are stored on level shelves. iron down. I saw a tip in (I think it was) Robert Wearing - Making Woodwork Aids and Devices, to store planes on old carpet with a drop of oil on them. Did this a couple of years ago. They never rust! They are oiled and ready to go when you pick them up. The...

    Workshop machinery dust covers?

Single car garage for me, uninsulated. I use camelia oil on all my cast iron. For the planer, i cover it in a moving blanket - think they were £5 from a storage place. very rarely (usually when I forget to oil the bandsaw table) do I see even the merest sight of rust.

British Hardwoods Open Day - 9/4/2022

Well I went along to this today. I was a little bit under whelmed. Now don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting Harrogate standards, but I was expecting a bit more than what was on offer. Not a lot for the makers amongst us, but some limited retail. It would have been nice if e.g. classic...

Advice about Trend Router Table please.

@Speedbird1 I've got the CRT3 with the T11 permanently mounted in it. It works incredibly well. The top adjustment can be done to fractions of millimetres. I know you say it is out of your price range, but for me it would be worth waiting and save more for it, or find a BNPL deal, or paypal 0%...
