    Customer service - Twice.

Along with (yet another) workshop move around, I've recently been making an enclosure for my CNC. Which means the CNC has been moved a few times. When I came to put it in the enclosure about a fortnight ago, I found the z-axis limit switches weren't working. On inspection I'd damaged the bottom...

    Work holding - CNC

masking tape and superglue usually for me I have used screws into sacrificial board as well, but mostly tape. The 3m tape is on offer this weekend at Lidl, so i'll be stocking up. Especially as I now have the parts to fix my CNC.

    Carving chisels - starter advice

Have a look at Woodcarving Workshops | Learn to carve online I started with this, but lost interest in favour of a CNC machine. I kept the chisels i bought and do intend to come back to hand carving.

    Any Festool owners?

I started out with a real cheapo £50 chop saw. It was junk I then moved onto a an Evolution saw with stand. I thought this was great. I then bought the Kapex 60, built a workstation for it. It will be the last tool I sell when I get too old for this hobby. It was night and day difference. It...

    Got my first 3D printer

I used sketchup for woodworking and am competent enough in that. But for 3d printing, i got into using the free version of fusion 360. There are lots of tutorials on youtube Rex, have a look over there and it should give you a good idea. I would class my self very much in the noob / novice...

    Got my first 3D printer

Hmm. I think this may be how long is a piece of filament question. By way of example, one print i mentioned previously. The lever arm on my loo broke. The screwfix (and others) was about £2.30, plus the petrol and 40minute or so round trip. To print a replacement cost 30 odd p in filament, and...

Honda CRV 2019 1.5 Vtec turbo

My wife drives a 2015 crv diesel. Its our second crv. In a total of 16 years ownership we have had 2 recalls, 1 replacement part under warranty (squeaky clutch cylinder), 1 new lambda sensor and thats it other than consumables. She does very little mileage, but we have found both crv’s to be...

    Got my first 3D printer

One of my colleagues , who is seriously into 3d printing, recommended that to me a few months ago. In the end I decided to go for the Bambu x1c. However, he has a couple of those and seems to love them and has had some splendid results.

I made a thing - Dog Hole Cap for Chamfered holes - (UKJ Chamfer tool)

Not something I would use - don't use dog holes in my woodwork, but I can see these being useful to others.

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

Well it had to happen at some point - I got some spaghetti from the X1C. To be honest it was my fault. You can probably see the previous print marks were still there and I'd forgotten to clean it and add fresh glue. Lesson learned. Since then I've printed a few things - let me know if anyone...

    Mini CNC machine

Hi @Gina Smyth - you dont mention what you are planning to use the CNC for. Could those be overkill? those are way above my budget. I purchased the sainsmart proverxl 4030. Upgraded the spindle to a dewalt router and for £1200 i have an almost turnkey solution (there was a bit of assembly...

Best way to make my shed larger?

You could build an extension to the right, and make the whole roof a pent roof, say sloping from back to front. Remove the existing apex front and rear. Extend the front up to a desired height. Simple flat roof on it and that might give you what you want. Like this - but bigger

While ever you are making such beautiful canes Simon, you can post whatever you want where ever you want. The keyring is a great idea too. I usually leave £20 in my car for when i forget my wallet - I'm getting on a bit now :D
