Aldi Pillar Drill and a few other bits and pieces

That depends on whether the pillar drill is usable. As mentioned in the Parkside drill thread, the one i bought from Lidl was total junk. The drill wobbled at all speeds - rendering it unusable. i believe the quill was bent. To be fair Lidl took it back without any issue and i was refunded. I...

    Rutlands plunge saw.

I've got the Titan from screwfix. Did some ply shelves for my new shed in a jiffy. The only downside about the titan is poor dust extraction. Even when hooked up to a record DX1000, there is still a lot of dust not vacuumed. For the price i paid (£99) I am more than happy with it though.

    parkside pillar drill

i took mine back the day after i bought it for exactly that problem. They refunded me no problem. I think they have a 2 or 3 year warranty and only Lidl sell them. Take it back and they should either replace / fix or refund it.

    Robot mowers (and other robots)

I stayed in a hotel a few years ago that had one. They left it out all the time, and it got nicked. Stupid thief didnt realise it had GPS, so local constabulary traced it and found it in his shed :-) Thief got nicked and hotel got their mower back.

Noel Marshalls Bricky Wall Building Tools

laid 3 course of blocks for a shed base recently. Seen the "Brickies mate" on youtube, made my own from a few scraps of wood. Did the job perfectly - binned it once I'd done and it cost me nothing.

Advice sought on multi purpose ladders

I got mine from Maplins when they were on offer (£50 i think). I would agree with Matt, they are OK in step ladder mode, not so sure about ladder mode. I have used them as a small platform when lifting fence panes out of concrete posts e.g. /-------\, and they were ok, but a bit wobbly. What...

    64mm shop vac?

up until last week, I had been using a karcher wet and dry vac with 30-32mm hose. I had made some heath-robinson contraptions for connecting this to the planer, bandsaw (no success) and table saw. Still had loads of dust flying about. every time i planed up anything, the shavings clogged the...

    LED Battens

I watched Peter's workshop video on the 600x600 panels. Bought one from Toolstation yesterday for my Garage / Workshop - made a massive difference, and thats just one of them. They were a bit dearer than ebay at £30 each, but still cheap enough that i am thinking of adding 1 or 2 more. thanks...

    Mobile car body repairs

Not the SMART repairers, but a few years ago (about 12) some kind soul dragged a golf bag down the side of my car in the golf club car park. I used a Chips Away franchise local to me. He took about 2 hours, charged me £120 for fixing a long 12 inch scratch to the front wing. The results were...

+1 for your local library - usually cheaper than copy shops. Suggest you print/export to PDF and then drop on a memory stick.

    Erbauer

I've used a few of the erbauer and Titan tools and have no complaints. Go the Erbauer reciprocating saw for lopping tree branches, a Titan chainsaw (electric) for thicker branches / trunks when i was dropping a tree last year. Recently got the Titan T/P, which I've just used to thickness ~ 5m...
