    Trend NVR switch Recall

I can't see any other post relating to this - but received a notification from Amazon today indicating that the NVR switch on the TrendCRT/MK3 router table i bought before christmas may be faulty http://www.trend-uk.com/en/US/safety-notice/

    Ultex diamond stones offer

i've found the ultex ones to be fine. much better than the £3ish ones ED65 seems to be referring to. So i wouldn't worry about your choices Dokkodo. I use a 300 then 1000 then 1200 , followed by 2500 Hermes film from axminster. Sharp enough for me!

    Bosch 18-2-Li Plus drill driver

Hi Mark, I bought this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07 ... UTF8&psc=1 just before christmas. How ever did I manage without an impact driver? Both are brushless, batteries last much longer than my Bosch (green) drivers. They replaced a 10+year old dewalt brushed driver that died end...

New guy with a blank canvas

I made some simple frames and screwed these to the trusses in the garage. the panels slide into the frames, and gravity takes care of the rest.

New guy with a blank canvas

+1 for the LED panels - see Peter Millards thread / video on this - I used a similar couple of panels and the lighting is very good. Planning to have 1 or 2 more As for cabinets, I used the most basic B&Q base units and topped them with 1" plywood. Worked a treat.

Plywood for lining out workshop walls

I did one wall of my WIP garage to workshop conversion with 18mm hardwood ply - worked a treat. Use it for fixing shelving to, having a tool wall. When time / costs permit - I will likely board out the rest in the same way. F

    Router table

The smaller benchtop trend router table (CRT/MK3) is now on amazon for £179. I bought this at the higher price of £209 on Saturday and it was delivered Sunday. Built it yesterday and it works great (with the trend t11 i also bought). I rang amazon today when I saw the price had dropped £30...

    harrogate show

Just got back. There are some reasonable deals, but nothing that made it worth my while. I wanted a trend t11ek - show price was £339 incl 35 piece router set (which i didn't want) - amazon price £289 without the set. The CRT/Mk3 benchtop router table was £209.95 - and they wouldn't budge...

    Evolution scms's

I bought one of these (https://www.screwfix.com/p/evolution-ra ... 230v/26612 ) late last year, and the stand for it too. I've used it mainly for outdoor / garden projects and it has been excellent. Now I'm starting to use it for more fine precision cuts and think it could be better. I spent a...

    Notes/Comments - Duffield Timber @ Ripon

I went to Duffields last weekend, here are my views. Are they hobby friendly? - very - I'm a complete noob and Simon who was there was very patient and helpful. Can you self-select or is it by appointment? - self select from racks ofhardwood - each board is labelled, sized and priced (but...

    harrogate show

what level of discounts are usually on offer at the show? I'm fairly close by but would be looking at £30-40 travel and entry costs. Would i likely get my money back on a trend or triton 1/2" router and benchtop table for example? i.e. current prices for those are c£400-500, could i expect...

    Lidl Alert!

Hi Ed65 - it wasn't a race.... - i guesstimated 15 minutes and was taking my time. One of the reasons for buying this set was to sharpen them without a honing guide, so i could practice without damaging more expensive chisels. Moving towards getting faster i.e. not having to set the honing guide...

    Lidl Alert!

It could be me / my technique, but i was worried that the blade was going to snap when pushing. Pulling was a breeze and it seems very sharp. Plastic handle feels poor too.

    Lidl Alert!

well.... against my better judgement I went for the chisels and Japanese saw. The japanese saw is (IMO) very flimsy, and will probably be used for no more than pruning in the garden. The chisels however seem to be a bargain. I've only had time to sharpen the 24mm one so far. It had a hollow...

    Recording TV

if your looking to save a few quid - try Humax Direct. They have manufacturer refurbished with 2 yr guarantees. Bought mine from them about 3-4 yrs ago and never had a problem. As others have said, the interface isn;t as slick as sky's. Depending how techy you are, you can (on some models)...
