    Harrogate Show

I usually arrive 30-40 minutes before it opens, buy my ticket, then walk down to fodder, get back for opening time. Typically a couple of hours in the show, then home.

    Harrogate Show

I went today. Agree it was very busy, busier than previous years. Usual stop off at fodder for ultimate breakfast sandwich. Bought a few bits from axminster - they were very helpful, and 10% off The new Verum and Melbourne tools from @Peter Sefton looked very high quality, the chisels looked...

Folkstone Fixings (FFX) placed into Administration

Had mixed service from FFX. The customer service response on both occasions was poor. 1. Asked them to delay despatch for a week of a Kapex KS60. I was in Toronto when I ordered it - they delivered it the next morning!! Fortunately a neighbour took it in. 2. Took a day off work to receive a...

Any tips for a small paint drying station?

For one project I had a number of panels that I wanted to oil. I created something similar to a Plate Rack. Built a square base - drilled some 10mm holes and cut some dowel to length. Just used a friction fit so it easy to disassemble and store when not in use.

    Ax ultimate edge/Sorby deluxe/Tormek T4/T8 ?

I've got the sorby pro edge only (nothing else to compare it against). I would not buy it if you are wanting to sharpen chisels. It is great for turning tools, knives, axes etc, but find the chisel jig difficult to use to get a square edge. It sharpens great, but rarely square IME. I have used...

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

I've been asked for the stl files above, but then realised I can share this via onshape. Here is a view link - so you can access and save a copy for those interested. https://cad.onshape.com/documents/b891d3c53ef2fdb450f14d0c/w/81724d1d8b37ec59d7270c8e/e/41178c1cde744811db47b44b

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

This one reminds me of the first post i did on this thread. That was for a Bosch blower. This is a vac nozzle. I already have the (supplied with the GAS35L) thin nozzle and the wide sweeper one. What I wanted was one that was somewhere in the middle. Now before we get to the printed item, I had...

OOOOF - that is quality. Always better though when a component is from God's own county. ;-)

Absolutely beautiful. I have been meaning to make something similar for far too long. This is an inspiration.

    Bambu lab buying advice

+1 for Bambu Dave. I have the x1c, and like Paul outlines, the failure rate is minimal. I did have to use their support to replace a faulty part, and they were superb. I use Fusion 360 for the cad element. There is a free version for non-commercial use.

Mac timbers open day Sunday 30 June

Hmmm a tale of two cities for me. Wisdom tooth one was impacted, local hospital extraction. 15 minute appointment, 50 minutes later i look like i had gone 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. Surgeon says, go to nearest pharmacy and get the strongest painkillers you can . I did and they did not...

10" bandsaw - Record or Charnwood?

Late to the conversation, but I reckon you will have made a wise choice Rob. It was my first bandsaw way back, upgraded to a sabre 350 when they were released, for increased throat / resaw capacity. The only issue I had with the BS250 was the power of the motor. It occasionally stalled when i...

    Regrets

My woodworking mojo has been suppressed of late. I've done a bit of turning (it's quick), but little else as my job has swamped my time. As a result I have a few tools that hardly ever see the light of day. But... I am in the very engineered / fortunate position that I don't need to recoup the...
