    Workshop Must Have's...

Well I will tell you where I started some 45 odd years ago when I had my first house to renovate. I had a Stanley bridges drill with all the attachments and was satisfied with the results but it seems that these days the general consensus is that you will need the most expensive tools available...

Since the start of business globalisation the brand name on many tools has become very blurred. Good quality but cheap and cheerful Screwdriver set?

As an ex snap on dealer and ex Mac tool dealer and now retired independent tool supplier l can tell you that your views on what makes high quality tools has very little to do with price paid.

    Van recommendations

Another vote for the Vw transporter. Mine is the high roof long wheelbase version and will take 8 by 4 sheets 6 by 6 fence panels and 3.5mt lengths of anything and will still have a good resale value when I no longer need it.

Tool buying on Ebay in a nutshell.

Can't see the problem myself. I wouldn't buy them and you wouldn't buy them and nobody has to buy them but what is wrong with the sellers testing the water to see if someone may be prepared to to pay that price for them?

radial arm or sliding mitre saw?

In my opinion if it for only use in the workshop you cannot do better than the ras. Mine is set up between two benches on the long side of my workshop and in effect takes up no room as the bed forms part of the bench when the saw is not in use.
