For me I think a petrol engine would be the way to go but it would seem that in this country that is not an option. There is a nice 4 stroke engine kit available from Germany where it is allowed and I am still temted to give it a go.

I have a push bike that I would like to convert into an ebike . Does anyone have any experience of the conversion kits that are available.

Is there any chance that those of you who have a 613 with wooden guides could post a picture of the whole machine from the back and the front. A picture of the cover page of the user manual would also help.

I did not suggest that the theory was incorrect but in practice trying to maintain a small gap between a screwdriver and a cylinder head while pulling on a starting rope to try and see a small spark is not going to work.

Really interesting thread please keep us informed with progress. I think that if you clean the contact points and introduce fresh petrol it may well start. If you are not used to working with engines be prepared for a suprise when it starts and make sure you know how to stop it.

I can only say again that a Kity 613 never had wood upper blade guides.

There is no way that Kity ever used hard wood blocks for blade guides on a 613 bandsaw.

Can you not still buy cheap metal scaffold towers?

The motor on my machine is central to the table and a pulley on both ends.

The belt to the planer and morticer both run flat. The belt to the spindle moulder twists through 90 deg and the belt to the table saw runs through 180deg.

I own an old Kity 5 function machine that pre dates the k5 but is often referred to as a k5. The belt to the table saw on my machine is twisted to get the correct rotation of the blade.

A metal cutting bandsaw is a very different machine to a wood cutting bandsaw.

My advice would be don't try to bring presision metal working methods into your woodworking you will never be happy with the results.

It's probably to late to help you now but I clad a large building with feather edge boards and painted them with bedec barn paint no need for primer and after 2 years the result has been excellent.
