    Fixing an Inca 205 Bandsaw

Do you have the original rail for the fence? It is a length of unequal angle iron that bolts to the front of the table and I would think it also helps to keep the table flat. Straingly enough I have done some work on my Inca today a few weeks ago I managed to break the table insert and today I...

    bandsaw tracking and tensioning

For MikeG. I notice that you have just been given a bandsaw blade that is 14tpi. What thickness of material do you intend to cut with that?

    bandsaw tracking and tensioning

Well all I am going to add to this thread is that I have both an old Inca and old Kity bandsaws both are set up as per the manual that came with them and I use both of them with the fence and mitre guides that came with them. The only time that I have had issues with either straight cutting or...

Vintage bronze spoke shave body only

I know that we have some old tool collectors on here and I have an old spokeshave body only no cap iron or blade that has been kicking around in my workshop for as long as i can remember that I would like to pass onto somebody who would appreicate it. I have done nothing to clean this up but it...

    YouTube Channel's

I think that the things I watch on youtube are not the same as many members of the forum. The only channel I keep an eye on is the Sampson boat builder because it is a very long and interesting project. Other than that I only watch stuff that interests me at the time and have searched for. I...

    Learning to weld

The type of welding you want to do makes a massive difference on the type of equipment you need and the learning curve you will have to go through. As to your question about how long second hand kit will last it would be simpler to tell you how long is a length of string.

Paypal payments can a buyer cancel without notice

Well I am done with this now. I think you need to wise up you have someone who you have no idea who they are who wants to buy your item and have it collected by someone else you have no idea about without you having to pack it or address it does that not seem strange to you?

Paypal payments can a buyer cancel without notice

Take my advice only sell it to someone who rocks up and pays in cash. If it dosent sell this week relist it next week and try again but make it clear that they collect and pay in cash that costs you nothing.

    Shop Smith Mark 7

Many years ago I went on a 3 day course on the Shopsmith at Craft Supplies and although I enjoyed it and did like it I didnt buy one at the time I think it was about £1500 but by the time you had purchased all the other items you would want to go with it it became silly money. I notice that...

Paypal payments can a buyer cancel without notice

Gumtree is somewhere to list list items for sale localy and you would expect the buyer to turn up and pay for it and take it away. You need to ask yourself if your item is not unique or for sale at a very low price why would they want to arrange and pay for it to be collected and delivered to...

Paypal payments can a buyer cancel without notice

I have a lot of experience of selling via the internet and my advice to you would be is that any item you are selling that is collection only needs to be collected and paid for in cash by the buyer. If you do it any other way they can say they didnt receive it or could look at it and say it was...

    Festool Domino patents and IP

First thing that I would say is that I am not a brand name fan boy I just want tools that do the job, some have been expensive and some not so. A few years ago I was in B&Q and they had on sale what they called a dowel joiner I think it was about £30 so I got one, when I got home I tried it out...

    3d printed 4-Way Clamp

I don't know anything about 3d printing but only a few weeks ago I made similar clamps from wood. I also tried to find metric slip nuts but could not so I used wing nuts. I also made internal blocks so that I could also use my fence clamps instead.

Hello, thank you - and advice on used tools priority

Hi and welcome. The only item on your list I can comment on is the Inca bandsaw. I think I have seen the one you are talking about on ebay and I own the older version of the same saw and I would recommend it to anybody but I think the £200 you have offered is about right. I would also ask if it...

    Kity K5 combi machine (manual)

I think that it is a shame that a lot of people who need some advice about old Kity machines do an internet search and come across this site sign up ask a question and never return. If everyone with old Kity machines added content this could become a massive resource of information for all owners.

How many of you use a hand saw as your main way of ripping?

I have to say that I have a massive respect for those of you who only use hand tools but it is not for me. I cut things almost to size with machines and then finish off with the most appropriate tool for the job.

I want to buy a scroll saw.

I was really lucky when I did my welding training some 30 odd years ago in that I had a a really old school teacher who not only taught me the theory and practice of welding 12 inch cracks in irreplaceable engine blocks but then went on to show me that for much less stressed items you can...

    Kity K5 combi machine (manual)

In truth if your individual machines are green and red I doubt if it is a K5. Do all the individual machines have a red label on them with a model number?

I want to buy a scroll saw.

I am happy to acknowledge that you have more experience of welding than i have but i have never had a problem welding cast iron in small sections that you need to do to fix the saw you have got.
