    Stanley No80 scraper plane blade.

As jb99 says the blade for the stanley 80 is thicker than a card scraper. I have a set of Veritas card scrapers but they are all to thin.

Many thanks for the reply. Chronos are only a short distance from my house although I have never been there but I will ring them on Monday morning to make sure they have one in stock I will let you know how I got on.

    Stanley No80 scraper plane blade.

I have decided that the time has come to go through the tools I no longer use so that I can find the ones I do use. When going through a box of Surforms ( how many of them do you need?) I came across a Stanley No80 without a blade. I would like to bring this back into use can anybody advise...

Essential shopping list for beginner cabinet maker

My advice would be to start a project with the tools you have and then come back for advice if you have a problem you can't resulve.

    hand cut mitred box splines?

We know the op has a table saw but we don't know if he has a router table. He has told us that he can't be bothered to make a jig for the table saw so it is safe to assume that even if he has a router table he won't make a jig for it. In my opinion the best way to cut splines of any thickness is...

Essential Power Tools for starting wood worker

I find it hard to believe that someone would suggest to a new woodworker that they should consider buying a domino or a top of the range biscuit jointer.

I am not a hand tool woodworker but I do use a few and scrapers are my favourite.

    Yandles - poor experience

I dont understand why you think that I am a hypocrite but lets let others decide. No need to thank me for contacting Yandles, I didnt do it for you, I just dont like the incorrect information that sometimes comes up on this forum. It wasnt long ago that someone popped up on here and said that...

    Yandles - poor experience

Well I am going to throw my hands in the air and say I alerted Yandles about this thread. As someone who used to run an online business I have to say I hate threads like this when we only here one side of the story. I sent an email to Yandles late one evening via their website to alert them to...

Einhell table saw - should i return it ? hack fix ?

To be honest I don't understand why anybody would buy a sub £100 table saw and then check it out with a presision gauge and expect it to be as well made as a saw costing many times the price. From what I can see in your video you have a usable saw within your budget just get on and use it and enjoy.

    Yandles - poor experience

Was the item sent via Amazon or direct from Yandles? How did you pay for it? Without seeing the listing you purchased from it is impossible for anyone to comment but if the listing stated brand new in retail packaging then just go for a return via Amazon. If the item was listed as a customer...

Hi and welcome to the forum. Lons is the man for the manual if he does not see this post perhaps send him a pm. As for planer blades you could resharpen them but if they have got beyond that I would reccomend blades from Appleby wooodturnings https://www.applebywoodturnings.co.uk/ I have...

    Accuracy.

If you are talking 10s of a mm you are there if you are talking 10s of an inch you have a way to go. Is it flat straight and square will drive you insane if you let it.

    Isaac Lord

Their shop has not closed they moved to a new premises in September. As far as I am aware they still sell top quality tools and have not gone down the pile them high sell them cheap route. I think that before members post info like this they should at least do some basic research to make sure...

    Dado blades

I have a dado set for my radial arm saw and to be honest I havent used it for several years. As Steve says the set up time is not worth it unless you are doing a massive amount of cuts. I really dont think that any hobby woodworker needs one and there are better options for professional wodworkers.

    locked out of youtube

I had a similar problem about 12 months ago. I had used an email address via NTL that I had used to upload a couple of videos to youtube many years ago after the take over by Virgin I hadnt used it for many months and it got deleted but I still had the original phone number I had used and after...

    Table saw blade wobble

Just because your machine will take a 12" blade does not mean you have to use a 12" blade. From what you say you are using a 12" blade with a small kerf to do shallow cuts and I think that is your main problem, that blade is very thin and is likley to vibrate doing shallow cuts. A 12" saw is...
