In truth it sounds to me that the whole machine is scrap and if you pm me your address I will come and collect and dispose of it for you. In truth I have what I think is the same machine that I purchased in the 1980s and I still love it to this day and would not change it. Hope you sort it and...

    ELU 1251 RAS worktable

The section behind the fence is easy enough to measure yourself you just need to decide how high your fence will be and work from there. Do you have plenty of space and are you intending to do rip cuts on it, these things are important to know before you make a new table. There are no hard and...

    Cap iron screwdriver

Well at least this thread shows that I am not the only one who is bored. Unlike some of you I am still trying to amuse myself in my workshop while some of you are spending your time sitting at your computer.

    Cap iron screwdriver

Well I will leave you girls to your bickering. Photo of finished item. After nearly 50 years of woodworking I have never had a cap iron screwdriver and never considered it to be a must have tool but out of boredom and wanting something to do I have to say that I wish I had had one years ago...

    Cap iron screwdriver

I think that I am bored. Having purchased a set of Vaunt diamond stones from ITS I have sharpened all my chisels and have quite enjoyed the process and it's now time to move on to the planes I thought it would be nice to have a screwdriver that fitted the screws . I searched through what I call...

    Cost of call out charge

I don't know what type of business you are running but I think that you would be better off finding customers nearer to your base. If you start charging customers 45mins away a charge for your driving time you can rest assured that they will find someone nearer to them to do the work.

    Tyzack tools

I don't think I have ever seen this company ever mentioned on here before but I have to say that I wanted to buy an item that was available via a company that does get mentioned here but it was over £4 dearer plus postage I purchased it from Tyzack via their ebay shop and saved over £7 on an...

    Silverline 900mm F-clamps £8.80 at Birco

Perhaps sunnybob and woodbloke rob could tell us the Silverline tools they purchased that have made them think that anything with the Silverline name on it must be avoided at all costs. I have 12 T section heavy duty Silverline sash clamps and although it is possible to pick fault with them if...

    Wildlife camera.

Many thanks for the replies. I was hoping that someone would have had experience of a sub £100 stand alone camera and could recommend the brand name. I am sure that the PI solution is a good one but these days I have no interest in anything to do with pc's being a total convert to a Google...

    Hancock's Half Hour

How do you explain the fact you have a good order book but think that we are in for economic melt down. I think that we are entering a period of change and uncertainty but business will adapt in the way you have and in time things will improve

    Wildlife camera.

Just before lockdown my wife who seems to think she is responsible for all wildlife saw traces of us having hedgehogs in the garden and asked me to make a house. I made the house out of offcuts from under the bench as I guess we all have and although she was pleased with it (that is the main...

    Stanley No80 scraper plane blade.

Just to update this thread I finally got round to ordering a Veritas replacement blade for their version of the Stanley no80 and it is a perfect fit , it is 1.1mm thick and is sharpened on 2 sides. I found my Stanley no80 in a box of old tools without a blade and I just felt it would be nice to...
