    Oak reclaimed railway sleepers

Sounds to me that they are offcuts from the ends of full size sleepers if that is the case they will be rubish full of cracks and will not cut down into boards.

middle of lidl clamp / rail £10

Strange thing about the Parkside tools from Lidl is that some people love them and others go out of there way to rubbish them. I have had that guide rail for several years and it does all I would expect from it. At least your trip to Lidl this week was cheaper than mine I purchased the pillar...

    Kity k5 (i think 😁)

I have and I think heronviewer has what I think is the same machine as yours except mine has the smaller planer, The machine is not a K5 and trying to follow the instructions for a K5 will confuse you further. On your machine the belt for the table saw should be 1120mm x 220mm the saw can be run...

    Kity k5 (i think 😁)

The belt to the saw should have a twist in it. Without the twist the belt will be to long and the blade will run in the wrong direction.

    Ultex vs Trend Diamond stones

I think that ITS have re branded the Ultex stones as Vaunt. I have got 1 of each and can only say that I am very pleased with them both. If I have got something that is rusty and in poor shape I also have a set of 3 diamond stones that are about £6 that are very cause and I use them first to...

I’ve heard of inflation but this is ridiculous.

Not in the same league as IPA but my drink of choice is Carling larger and today it was £10 for 18 cans in Tesco that is as cheap as I have seen it in a long time.

    Machinery/ tool dilemma

    Filing ltd company accounts

In truth it sounds as though you have set up a ltd company inorder to maximize the tax advantage on what is in effect a personal investment. If that is the case you are walking a very fine line and I think you are better off having a professional submit your accounts inorder to ensure you do not...

    Bandsaw drift

The other thing to remember with bandsaws is the feed rate is quite slow even with the correct sharp blade. Pushing the work too hard to try and speed things up will cause drift.

What is this thing? Hand tool with rotatable hexagon and six different sized semicircular indents.

The blade on that tool is at 90deg to the shaft so that makes sense the tool the op has shown the blade is in line with the shaft and the shaft is not straight so I don't think that it is a tool for pulling along anything. Just my thought as I said I have no idea what it is.

What is this thing? Hand tool with rotatable hexagon and six different sized semicircular indents.

I have no idea what it is but I don't think you have the answer yet. When I was a vehicle mechanic I had a similar tool to scrape rust from brake and fuel lines to see how deep the rust had gone but the shaft was straight and the blade was at 90deg to the shaft as would make sense for a tool you...

    Disc sander issues

If I am correct in thinking that the disc sander is the 12" model the run out that the op has mentioned as being between .3mm and .5mm should not cause him a problem if he just gets on and use it rather than spend time measuring it.

    Kity 636 Frustration

I have a similar Kity machine that I have had for almost 40 years. I have never had to strip it down to replace any vital parts and I would suggest that you just get on and use it to see if there are any problems before you strip it down just for the sake of it.

Chipped edges on new planes and do new planes need sharpening before use?

That is the first time I have ever heard of anybody grinding a scraper plane to a set angle. I always thought that they were burnished. Forget the candles and try the rag in a can you may be happy you did.

    Anglebox advice.

I purchased an I gauging one I have been very happy with it. The only down side is that it is not back lit but the display is easy to read. https://woodworkersworkshop.co.uk/products/igaging-anglecube-level-and-protractor-3rd-generation My main reason for buying it is the fact that it is...

    Social distancing, .. what's that?

Well I have to say that having an ignore thread button is the most unnecessary thing I have ever heard of. If you have no interest in a thread don,t get involved.

    Bench drill - Bosch PBD40

There does seem to be a few people who own one on this thread who seem to be happy with it. I think that their opinion carries more weight than yours.

    Bench drill - Bosch PBD40

Can I suggest that it would be a good idea to give an opinion on something you own rather than give your opinion based on the experience of others.

Curry's. - Do NOT buy anything from them at the moment.

Strange idea that people who no longer want to work in office blocks in city centres would be quite happy to live in them.
