I think that's where I went wrong, I assumed it was a rip cut but based on performance I'd say it's a crosscut.

It's slow on the rip cuts but it cuts quicker on crosscuts, not tried it on any harder woods yet. The teeth are pretty small which makes sense as to why it's slower cutting now when I compare it to dedicated rip saws.

Printed some magnetic hose connectors for my new dust extractor. Had a bit of a nightmare with the super glue on the first one but managed to clean it up with a file. The connection seems solid, can't feel or hear an air leaking between them, but still a bit skeptical. Haven't had a chance to...

I have a Douzuki Gold 240mm saw as someone recommended trying it for dovetails. Tried cutting dovetails this evening in 19mm poplar and the cut was incredible slow. Was wondering if this was "normal" for douzuki saws? Non of my other Japanese saws are this slow, maybe that's what makes them...

Thought a bench hook would be a good (and useful) project to do with dovetails. The rear fence was meant to be dovetailed too, however the joint was too tight and it split :( so I used domino's to secure it instead. Cut below the line with the fret saw unfortunately, but still turned out alright.

I have something very similar in my workshop on top of a concret floor. Such a great quality of life improvement, because it's black and easy to clean I find I keep it cleaner than when it was just concrete. I haven't stuck them down to the floor and they've not moved, which is good cos it means...

I bought the Bosch one but it gets very little use, the trigger on mine is painfully stiff. Much prefer my cheap Amazon one.

Seconded, the casing around the power switch broke in transit on mine. Seems a common issue looking at reviews. But they sent out a replacement part no hassle.

I've just put my axminster thicknesser up for sale if that's of any interest to you, not exactly local though I'm afraid.

Need to make room for other tools and seen as I habve a planer/thicknesser combo I can't really justify keeping this, despite it being loads easier to use than my combined machine. Happy to answer any questions as usual. HSS blades deliver 18,000 cuts/min, feed speed of 7m/min Depth capacity...
