Sold Festool DOMINO DF 500 Q-Set Jointing Machine

Hey, This is one of those tools that every time I use it I absolutely love it, makes joiner super quick and simple, the problem is I just don't build the things that make use of it often enough to warrant keeping it. I bought it Feb 2023, it's been used no more than a dozen times on builds...

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

Couple of quick projects for some kitchen organisation. First up a spice rack, not my design, 6mm walnut mdf, happy with how it turned out considering the time invested. Might go for something more traditional and space saving with holes for the jars to slot in and mount it on the wall. Next...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Saw a video where Rob Cosman added storage to his workbench, so I decided to do the same. Thankfully I had some sapele and 15mm birch ply leftover from when I build the workbench, which really helped tie it all together. Case is 12mm ply with sapele edge banding, draws are 9mm ply, with 15mm...

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

I'm toying with the idea of selling some products further down the line, so I wanted to see if I could optimise my workflow a bit to speed things up. Also has the benefit of making any burn marks or soot super easy to remove, they just wipe off. I did run a second super light super quick engrave...

Post a photo of the last thing you turned

Finally got round to picking up learning woodturning again. This is only the second thing I've ever made, a small shallow dish. Was great fun to make, had a few catches when shaping the inside, think this was due to me having the bowl gauge at the wrong angle. I got a few other bowl blanks so...

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Wanted to build myself some storage either side of espresso machine for various brewers and accessories. Made a few mistakes on this one so going to take the learning and make another one, hopefully better. Things I like: Rebate joints with contrasting plugs. Shelf sitting within a groove...

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

Gift for a friend, filter paper holder made from 4mm walnut mdf, display box made from 6mm walnut mdf with 3mm acrylic sliding door. The display box was prefinished with polycrylic and the fitler holder was prefinished with lacquer. Wanted to try out prefinishing my laser cut projects to make...

How to get curved walls of small irregular dish.

Need a dosing tray, absolutely not my grinder has a dosing cup that works perfectly fine, however I thought these looked nice and wanted to have a go at making one.

How to get curved walls of small irregular dish.

Hmmm I might look into treating myself to an angle grinder for xmas.

How to get curved walls of small irregular dish.

Interesting I hadn't considered the lathe due to the triangluar shape, well that and the fact that I suck at using the lathe haha.

How to get curved walls of small irregular dish.

I want to make the below, it's a dosing tray to weigh and transfer coffee beans. The bowl bit I'm fine with I can make a template and route out the inside. The bit I can't figure out is how to make the sides curve down to the base. Only way I can think is to use a bandsaw and make a serious...

    Christmas present idea

That looks ace, love the protuding fingers and the contrasting wedge.

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

Note to self if you want to make CNC finger joints looser the offset value in vcarve needs to be negative 🤦 To be fair I didn't have to try and hammer it in and kinda knew this would happen. Switched to laser cutter for a simple coffee filter holder. Wanted to come up with a nice design but...

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

Their website claims it's permanent. I think it's similar to the solutions you can get for glass where the power of the laser causes the solutions to bond with the surface.

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

Wanted to try some engraving in brass but I don't have a fibre laser so thought I'd give this stuff ago: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0851RVKL5?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Turned out better than I expected, missing part of the text as I didn't realise it doesn't stick very well...

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

New laser has a slat bed and I saw on etsy someone was selling clips for it to help with work placement and alignment, so decided to try and make my own. Few different variations and still playing around with the size and tension on them but overall seem to work well.
