Another box build but this one actually has a purpose ha. Been wanting to make myself a knock box for a while now. I had originally planned on covering the cross bar with a silicone tube. However when I came to drill the holes in the side for the cross bar I drilled them for the larger dowels...

Charnwood w740 vs Record power 450?

For what it's worth I asked Yandle's about this and they said:

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

Found a nice block of purple heart in my scraps, so thought I'd make it into a little box. I was reading an article on how to make a jig for a router table to make routing out the hollow easier/safer when I realised I have a cnc why don't I just do it on that. Used a round bit to give some nice...

    Dust Extractor for small shop

This is the space I have available. The bandsaw will be going on the right where my drill press and thicknesser are, those are being moved to the other end of the workshop. My planer is on the left with table saw and router in the foreground. I could in theory fit a larger dust extractor but it...

    Dust Extractor for small shop

Mounting it under your planer is a great idea. My planer is currently sitting on it's own dedicated trolly and under it is just a space where I put things I can't think where else to put them ha. Never thought of placing one under something. Hmmm this has definately given me something to think...

    Dust Extractor for small shop

Thanks for the reply. I have a festool dust extractor for tools/machines that require smaller diameter with a cyclone that sits under one of my work benches. I didn't realise they go for so cheap second hand, I'll have a look around my area see what I can find.

    Dust Extractor for small shop

I'm thinking about getting myself a new bandsaw soon, possibly a SABRE-450 or similar. As such I'm going to need a dust/chip extractor that can support 100mm inlet. Space is the biggest limiting factor unfortunately, looking around the two main options seem to be either a wall mounted unit or...

Another box build. For this one I made the base over sizer and cut a rebet around the edge for the box to sit on. This fit's not quite perfect, used the router table and took off a tiny bit too much. Next time I'll cut short and refine with a plane. The lid was very much an after thought and...

    Which 3d printer - 2023 edition

I use bambu filiaments for the same reason.

    Which 3d printer - 2023 edition

The main use of my AMS at the moment isn't for mutli colour prints (although they are cool), I use it to easily and quickly swap between different filament types depending on what I'm printing. Previously on my ender 3 I'd sometimes either not print something or print it in the "wrong" filament...

Wanted to make a dovetail box but never used the UJK jig before so decided to make a smaller test project first. Struggled to figure out the best way to add a bottom to the box. I did consider doing a stopped groove, but didn't have a router bit small enough for the plywood base I wanted to use...

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

I really wanna upgrade my sander but can't afford to at the moment, so a nice little upgrade to my existing one is an adapter for my festool dust extractor.

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

Nothing fancy, but designed and printed a simple phone mount for a bluetooth speaker I have so I can use my old phone as a dedicated music player.

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

Ooooo I may have to give these a try myself this weekend, I need to redo my blast gates anyway, thanks.

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

These look cool, what's the advantage of using a ball valve over the more traditional blast gate?

Latest thing you have printed / machined / cut

Printed some corner radius guides for the router, nothing too fancy but handy to have.

Saw a couple of videos on using a thin rip jig on the table saw to cut strips for kumiko which looked really cool so thought I'd try and make one myself. It's not the prettiest but it seems to work really well. Both fences are adjustable to accomodate for different length strips. There's no...
