The switches in these are notorious for giving trouble. Maybe consider bypassing it and using a DOL starter to turn it on and off instead?

Yes it certainly can but easily avoided. Only buy tools for a project where you cant achieve the same end with tools you already have or you need duplicates in different locations - eg particular screwdrivers or multimeters. One in the house one in the woodwork shop, one in the metalwork shop...

Use the core drill method. First drill through a piece of ply, mdf etc and clamp that to the job as a guide to get a clean entry hole.

Following a resurgence of interest is this I've dug out the original drawing and the fitting instructions. I no longer manufacture these. The design was offered to Axminster /Jet but declined. I did hear that subsequently the JET had revised their design of the 260 model so later ones should...
