Buying a machine on eBay sight unseen with pallet delivery

If the seller is uncommunicative then get in touch with eBay customer services. We have had issues with both buyers and sellers on occasion and they have always been very helpful. +1 for hiring a van

    Guess the timber

I've a few bits of an old Victoria that I cut down several years ago and they still look much as they did when first cut, maybe a bit redder, so there's every chance of some beautiful pieces there

    Retrievable, or firewood?

If you are determined to turn it get the outside shaped then wrap it in plenty of cling film when you reverse it to hollow it out

A wee bit windy in England today

Scots pine is not too bad for turning

    New music

Not a new artist but a new album- John Mayer's Sob Rock, very 80s themed and it's fun to play spot the guitarist impressions. He can mimic a lot of styles. Another good one is from the Zac Brown Band 'Old love song' just to see how many song titles they shoehorned in.

    Vice recomendations

Watch Gumtree too, I see ropey workbenches but with good vices on there quite frequently. Got a very nice record vice for £25 that way a few years back.

    Making a finial

I seem to recall an article in the wood turning magazine some years ago, could have been Richard Findlay, making one of these. The blank was turned down close to size then routed as you describe. Probably the quickest method to my mind

    Nurdles

Hypodeemic nurdles? Or bits of plastic?

    Which driver bits?

Sadly neither of those apply to me :(

    Ni Cad drill battery.

I wonder if the 'right to repair' legislation will change anything? It should mean parts availability for 10 years for all appliances, and service info too, but only for 'professionals'. I dread to think how many things I've had to chuck because of one small but vital plastic part when the...

    Which driver bits?

Getting to a stage where I really need some new driver bits and was wondering what people would recommend. It's mostly DIY stuff but having bought some Bosch ones a few years back that were seemingly made of cheese I'd rather see what real life experience has to say rather than go by brand again

    Who lives here?

Looks like the type of nest a queen wasp builds to hatch her first workers. Didn't know they did this till a couple of years ago when I found quite a few in the gardens where I work, had about 5 full blown nests that year but as they eat cabbage white caterpillars I'm happy to leave them be if...

Found 1 5/8"ø and 1 1/2" ø centre bit for brace. Thank You.

If that's any use you are very welcome to it, it's been sitting in a drawer for years waiting to come in useful
