Tool sharpening service for around 30 chisels?

If they are very old they may very well be carbon steel, which is easy to spoil on a grinding wheel. Perhaps they'd benefit from a graceful retirement in a display case and a replacement set of modern tools, jig and grinder for ongoing use

    Paper plant pot maker plans?

Base 3" wide, central boss 1 1/4", outer ring 2 1/4", ring is 3/8ths deep. Former is 2" dia, hole is 1 1/2" wide, 1/4" deep. Cylinder is 3" long but I should have made it 4 as I use the pots for sweet peas and they like a long root run. Hth

connecting green oak beam to post

Sorry, I was assuming two beams coming together at right angles on the top of your post, not sure why I thought that. A blind mortice and tenon, pegged, with wind braces should be fine

    Oh dear

Guess now's the time to look into chainsaw mills 😎

connecting green oak beam to post

Bridle joints horizontal on the beam ends, then a blind mortice cut vertically 2/3rds through the bridle joint. That mortice fits on a tenon at the top of your post Could just use a lap joint and through tenon but I would avoid the upward facing exposed end grain if possible

How do you know you're getting old...

    Give some ideas

The Bandsaw Book by Mark Duginske is old but still very useful if you are looking for ideas and maintenance tips. A thinner blade, even as small as 1/8th may be useful if you want to make the more intricate boxes. I see tuffsaws website is down at the moment, I can highly recommend Trucut in...

    Droppings in the garden ???

A few years back we had a goosander pair roost in a poplar for a couple of weeks at this time of year. Reckon they'd be big enough to lay one that size. It's quite strange to see a duck 30ft up a tree!

Post a photo of the last thing you made

Great idea and a fun piece. What is going on with the door frames in pic 4 though? I'm getting 80s music video vibes 😄

    Glue block

This is an adaptation of a method I used years ago on a pole lathe. Make a scrap disc of ply screwed to a block of wood that fits in your chuck. Drive short pins through the ply so they will stick into the waste on your half log and tap ply to log. Mount the block in the chuck, bring up the...

Is there any trick to make unscrewing easier from old wood?

I'd second Triton's suggestion about tightening the screw slightly if possible, then I'd try heat from a soldering iron with a chisel tip in the screw head. It might be possible to get enough swell and shrinkage to break the rust bond and undo them. If that doesn't work I'd go with Gordon's...
