    Twisted

Definitely interested, messing about with spinning wheels is fast becoming a new hobby although more for weaving than knitting

    Brumock/billhook handle

If you can take the handle off without wrecking it you could pare a bit off nearest the blade so the tang can seat a bit tighter. Then find a penny washer with a hole smaller than the end of the tang and file the hole square so it fits on the end of the tang by a few mm. Carve out a dip in the...

    Aviation enthusiast??

Apparently from an R101, or at least built for. The signage said it was designed to produce maximum power at 1100rpm, but had to be throttled back to 900 so the propeller could be run directly as too much power would be lost in a gearing system.

    Aviation enthusiast??

Odd that this thread resurfaced now, on a family trip to the Science museum today I spotted a Beardsmore diesel, 585 bhp at 900rpm, weighing about 2 ¼ tons. Absolutely huge thing

Going around ever decreasing spirals until disappearing up.........

I might have missed something but couldn't you use a printed template, scrollsaw it out, thin ply backing and a perspex cover. A simple bobbin sander rigged up on a drill press to smooth it out?

Strimmer maintenance - cleaning it up for the season... (and changing spark plug boot)

If it fits it should be fine. Some of the cheap garden machines make the connection from lead to plug with what looks like the spring from a wooden clothespeg, in which case the boot is a very tight fit to stop the 'legs' pulling out of the lead. If there's any crud between the fins it is worth...

    Live centre suggestions

I'd be tempted to take the pin out of the centre, pop a bar through the hole and drift the rest of the Morse taper out. Once you know it's width you can order a new one from places like Chronos or RDG for less than a tenner. I'd guess it'll be mt2-jt3? but there'll be more knowledgeable people...

Any idea what this is/was for?

Looks like something for a metal shaper or milling machine, bolt whatever you are working on to it sort of thing. Only a guess though

Sweeter than candy on a stick! Laburnum, cherry or lime? Or plum?

Base on the bark I would say some type of flowering cherry. What does the sawdust smell like? Some cherries have a strong almond smell when worked.

Robert Sorby 447 deluxe jig set

Looks like you just need a packer under the jig and you'll be sorted. The wheel diameter will change as you use it so the jig can allow for different sizes.

    Wanted Tormek T4 +...

Does it have to be a T4? https://www.homeworkshop.org.uk/index.php?option=com_adsmanager&view=show_ad&adid=41412&catid=2 No connection, just spotted it there

Robert Sorby 447 deluxe jig set

Although it isn't for this jig specifically, take a look at 'Lyle on sharpening' on YouTube. He gives a really clear explanation of using a jig of this type. I've got an old Axminster one that does the same job (but doesn't look so well put together) and really struggled to get good results...

    Barbeque table

Built this from reclaimed timber about 15 years ago. It's over 7ft long and we've had 8 people round it for barbecues in the past. Hinges lock the legs open when upright, could do with locking turnbuckles to keep them in the closed position

    Cheap Scarifier?

Make sure you get one with solid steel tines, not spring steel. Adjust the height down until the tines are just touching the soil and leave the box off. If it's the first time doing it hire a petrol one and have a couple of ton bags at the ready. Wolf tools or alko are a good bet. Not cheap though

A post about nothing much at all.

Perhaps a rebrand is in order, UK wombling forum?
