    Order tracking

Are you using an Amazon app? It is usually possible to pull up a live tracking map showing the van location I would have thought other companies would at least provide a tracking number these days

    Heatwave

That's just it though, we are seeing extreme events with greater frequency. Things that used to be considered once in a century are now once a decade, and we need to adapt to that

Retired the saw bench,,but what next?

Hang a router under it, piece of 2x2 for a fence, bolted one end, clamped the other and you have a basic but effective router table

Yebbut, it's worth more for biomass/bioethanol. That's why no US politicians will endorse a switch to food production Last place I worked used to do a daffodil open garden day for charity, when they started in the 50s it was 2nd week of April, by mid 00s it was early March. Daffs are temp...

Current estimates are 5x the land area is required to produce 1kg of meat protein compared to plant protein. This is for protein only, not total mass. Current ag policy is incentivising a reduction in grain feed to ruminants. Talking to the guys who do crop bagging here they were saying that a...

Extracting Rusted Furniture Bolts From Outdoor Furniture

Try tightening them before undoing, might do the trick if they aren't too far gone.

Thanks for posting those pics, looks like I can get enough depth to clear the motor with no problem then

    Vacuum Chuck

I'm just at the thinking stage of building a vacuum chuck set up having been given a pump and 6" diameter x 2½ft long piece of solid pvc to turn the chuck from. My question is: how much effect does the depth of the chuck 'cup' have? I built a Longworth style chuck some years ago and had to use...

    Live centre suggestions

One thought occurs, if you are using a record lathe with the twin bed bars, are the bars parallel and level both ways? If not it is possible the live centre is under a lot of stress. There doesn't look to be much 'meat' at the point of failure so perhaps it has an inherent manufacturing fault...

    Lawn Edger

Thanks for that link Jacob, the 60cm mowing blade looks tempting The only question is whether to use a peening jig or do it freehand ;)

    Green Flag anyone?

Been with them for many years but have never had to use their services. I understand they subcontract to local garages so there is a chance the service could be patchy but they are (or were) the only company that would guarantee to recover your vehicle and whatever you may be towing without...

    Home Lift

My employers had one fitted, the hole through the floor/ceiling is surrounded by a pre-made collar that is plugged by either the top or bottom of the lift carriage and what appears to be intumescent strip in case of fire. It lifts on two screw threads. In the case of malfunction or power loss...
