    Economy 7 Storage Heaters

If you had an old fashioned 'spinning disc' meter wasn't there some sort of radio switch to shift to night rate? If that's the set up here perhaps the signal is no longer available Just checked and it looks like radio teleswitching is being turned off this month

    A very old question... fossils

There is a lot to recommend an afternoon spent fossicking in a good site. The experience of setting eyes on the remains of something that existed before humans could ever see it is a great reminder of how irrelevant our species is to the planet. If many of these creatures had not gone extinct...

    A very old question... fossils

There was a good fossil shop in Lyme Regis, many fossils seemed to come with provenance. Where do we send flowers afterwards?

    Amazon T-Mech Lathe Spindle Adapter

Hi, I know this won't be welcome advice but I'd really recommend returning that lathe if you can, and looking for something with a through head-&-tailstock and more mainstream thread size. Many turning accessories need a morse taper fitting, including pen mandrels, which I don't think can be...

    Seed Catalogues

I know what you mean about the biennials, although I don't worry too much about rotation on the size plots I'm working. The only real issues here are with onions where white rot is so persistent, and blackleg that can get the potatoes in a wet year. Only really use parkers for winter and summer...

    Seed Catalogues

I get a King's seeds catalogue once a year, with a couple of flyers for veg plants, which isn't too bad. Also get the parkers wholesale catalogue for work, big but only twice a year thankfully. If you've had things from Sarah Raven's catalogue how have you found them? I've heard very mixed...

    Problems?

Just to add to John's points above you will be turning end grain rather than the usual cross grain bowl orientation. Not too hard if you've ever turned goblets.

That's a great idea for the jig, and the dog is lovely. I've found handmade toys get kept long after they are outgrown and I'm sure that will be the case for this one

    Soft Plastic Press for recycling

We stuff ours into an old bread bag, quite a compact size and one bag will hold about a month's worth of plastic. You could make a ply box to fit inside a bag, fix that to a frame and build something like this on the top...
