The chap who gave me the pump was a retired aero engineer and after an interesting discussion with him the plan is to turn a fitting for the pipe end from brass or delrin, into which I can press two shielded bearings. An airline fitting will be epoxied into the inner races and that will fit into...

I've been lucky enough to have been given a high quality vacuum pump and a length of 6" dia PVC rod to form the chuck. All I need to do now is make time to put it all together and that seems to be the hardest bit

Kinda spire nut to go over ply?

Rivnuts are brilliant to fix into metal, used them in my camper build last year after a recommendation on here. Not sure if they would rip through ply though. To fix ply to metal you could use trifold rivets if there's not much load.

    Box joints

I built a jig like the one in this video which works well. For a rough and ready table I've plunged the bit through a piece of MDF, clamped the router to it with a couple of thin battens and hung it in a workmate type vice. Fence can be timber clamped on to suit the task

    Info needed please

Don't touch it To do 900mm spindles your lathe will be at least 1200 long. I have a jet 1442 lathe that will turn a 14 inch bowl and a 42 inch spindle (without a chuck otherwise it's 38") You could probably pick up an Axminster, Draper or charnwood clone of that one with all the accessories...

Curved Ply Part For Campervan, Help!

To bend your ply look for a cheap wallpaper steamer on secondhand sites. Some thick polythene and duct tape will make a simple steam chamber, or build a simple ply box. As long as you have some simple formers to clamp the ply into once it comes out you should be able to get a decent result. I'd...
