Pocket hole screws are too large for 15mm ply?

Try Titman Edge pocket hole screws from Everytool.co.uk, they are similar to the trend ones but can buy in smaller quantities to try out. I don't do much pocket hole stuff but use these when I do and have been perfectly happy with their performance.

    MFT Table Best Accessories

I've done similar using 6mm mdf with 20mm dowels, so I can still use the dogs at the same time.

The ones in the pictures are Axminster UJK guide pups, but I also use some oak dowel I bought off the bay.

Here you go, not sure how helpful these will be but I'm very happy with how it all works. The cams are mdf which grip the wedges better, I cut some perspex cams but found they sometimes vibrated loose whilst using the ROS.

I'll take some next time I'm out in the garage, but it's nothing special. Also when I wrote spiral clamps I really meant cam wedges (my terminology is as bad as my woodworking).

    Makita router lift

I have the same router but the bolt that came with mine is fully threaded. Agreed it's not the best quality. My technique in my bench top router table is lift the router by hand to near enough height, use the plunge lock, spin the bolt down with the drill until it just catches, release the...

    MFT Table Best Accessories

Cheapskate that I am, I bought fence dogs and a length of 2040 aluminium profile bought off the bay, much cheaper than the benchdog fence, all that's lacking are the markings but I can live with that. Also copied the Axminster stops and wedges using some 8mm perspex used with some home made...

    B&D urban myth?

I have a B&D mechanical 2 speed non hammer drill bought in 1975 (just after buying first house) and it's still going strong. I've no idea how many hours use it has had but I did have it drilling out a HT bolt for an hour and a half continously. It's still my go to drill when I need mains power...

    Makita MT range info

I have the red makita single speed ROS bought from screwfix about 4 years ago and I'm happy with it but haven't used any others so have nothing to compare it to. The dust bag is ok using normal discs but I use abranet mesh discs and it is very good. I also use mirka pad savers as well, cheaper...

Won't somebody think of "young people"? (Edit: and No, older people aren't "to blame")

That's a generalisation too. My next door neighbour, a white van delivery driver in his own house, took delivery of a 70 plate Audi a7 yesterday. It may be on 'tick', I neither know nor care, but he must be paying for it in some way. Very nice it looks too! I forgot to add, he and his wife are...

Won't somebody think of "young people"? (Edit: and No, older people aren't "to blame")

If the yardstick of the inequality is house prices against salary, should interest rates not come into the equation too, or doesn't that count? Our first house, early 80s, was bought with a mortgage rate of around 9% which was just about affordable, which subsequently increased over the years to...

    Multitool

I have a corded green bosch bought in 2013 for a house refurb, it doesn't get used that often now but when it does it's invaluable. When my sons ring up to borrow it they ask for 'the magic tool'. No idea about later models but this one is very noisy but I would replace it in a flash if and when...

    bending rebar

Me neither. I was an RC detailer for part of my working life and it initially amazed me at the weight of a pre assembled cage, even relatively small stuff required cranage to get it into position. As for the big stuff T40 bar is 10kg/m, so a 12m beam with a dozen of those in is seriously heavy...

    bending rebar

Tall building foundations, big machinery bases, power stations .......... etc. Having seen massive cages of this stuff I've often wondered how they manage to get any concrete in ;-)

    Resin filled table tops

No idea what any guarantee against splitting is but one of my sons has a table that's 2.4m x 1.0m and it has metal straps to the underside about 300mm centres bridging the resin to join the 2 sides. Don't know if that's good or not but it looks amazing.

    Matchfit system

Like you I think it's a great system but the clamps and bits are eywateringly expensive, copying festool? I'm currently having a dabble with the AXCALIBER T-SLOT CUTTER FOR TRACK CLAMPS from Axminster since I already have a pair of cheapish makita track clamps. So far it's working well for a...

Alluminium bi fold doors any recomendation for supply and fit

We had them supplied and fitted by the Folding Sliding Door company in Bradford about 6 years ago, they have been great. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. No axe to grind, just a very satisfied customer. https://www.foldingslidingdoors.com/

    Router table question

Makita for me. I have the same one and really like the power and the above table adjustment with it (the long machine screw).
